Real HKS has not jst the sticker, it only has the HKS Super Sequential Blow Off engraved on the side of the blow off valve. Also look inside the Bov it should Say Sequential Blow off valve, or something like that. It has to say Sequential. And how come the postage is so expensive? From Vic to NSW is just $6.50 express.

i dunno why the postage is so expensive... these are the prices my boss gives me so i just run with them. i think that the $20 mark comes close in some locations... ill look into it.

yeah youre right about the engravings and the inside. there is alot more things you can tell by. im going to write up a page how to tell them apart. at least you base it.

id really like to meet this japspec person and thank him/her for all these hassles im getting. i appreciate the concern that you have nonetheless. with the amount of bullshit going around these days i am too when i buy stuff.

i was about to say... if youre in the area stop by and have a coffee with us had check out our work etc... not to disappoint ;)

the forum selling is just something we have started on and something that isnt on the top of our lists to persue. the online forum market is so competitive where you have guys who run backyard businesses and make around $15 on the larger scale items - coolers etc that they just destroy the market.

with us we offer installations and warranty on all our products...

Hehehe no worries glad to help can help a HKS mate =D, btw if u have a SSQV adaptor i would be really interested in buying one with a reasonable price, thx. Thx for the offer but im all the way at NSW so yeha jst gl with ur business cheers =)

theres about half a dozen different ways you can tell. wait till i have some time to take photos and gut a real and a fake to show you.

keep in mind that i wouldnt be stressing this point if the ones that i have are fake... ;)

Got an ssqv - exact same contents as in the pic, same sticker/part etc.

IMO this does not seem like 'hks' gear. The engraved part is not 100% straight, the inside looks rather shit. Opinions?

hrmmms, i dnt think so...where did u get it from? coz that is a breach of a copyright. So i would think that if they are like that my opinion that they would be real, otherwise these suppliers has to be stopped and caught. Well thats my opinion coz if i was to buy and its a fake ass cheap ass material i would be pissed. Otherwise it seems legit as it is. Check around and browse on the net.

so this guy is selling fake hks sqqv bovs?

You decide for yourself. Having a dodgy HKS imprint on the side doesnt' make it a real HKS. Another guy is selling the same thing on the group buys but he says his are from China.

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
    • I feel there must have been a FB/insta post and the weekend did not start well at all I hope everyone is all okay
