Sorry if there has been a thread on how to install this on an R33 already..

but I can't find it anywhere.

I got a Tomei Hicas Lock in the post today and all the instructions are in Japanese, unfortunately I don't read Japanese either..

Has anyone installed or knows how to install one of these kits in an R33?

Do you have to enter HICAS Diagnostics mode to install the brass bushes?

and how do you know which wires to splice into to install the little black box thingo?

Any help would be much appreciated thank you.

The pics are in the file, but somehow not showing. I think it's still pointing towards the site that used to host the file which is no longer up.

I tried to fix it without success. I suck at Word, Excel, etc...

Try this link for the zip file and see if you can fix it.

Thanks, enough there for me to work with.

Cheers :)

You can get it from Greenline or Nengun etc... They are around $150.

For a street car you wouldn't really bother to cancel the Hicas. On track cars it's a worthwhile mod as without Hicas you get more predictable behaviour.

I still haven't fitted mine, but AFAIK it's not better or worse than the lock bar.

It's just a pair of oversize washers locking the rear steering arms in place so there is no movement. Hence easier to return your car back to stock if you wanted to.

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
