Well any model GTST that has steel wheels (think r32 might) can run higher boost, the other GTST turbos (33/34) have ceramic turbos which means that it will crack under to much boost... not sure what wheels the t28s have and not sure whats safe on them, generally dont have to many kms on these units so can run higher boost through them anyway :)

Its not to do with the b/b or bush bearing nature of the turbo, its to do with the compressor/exhaust wheels on them :P

Someone feel free to correct me if im wrong?

As usual, I'll correct you.

R32 - R34 GTST/GTT all have Ceramic exhaust wheels.

R33 series II and R34 GTT have a form of plastic Compressor wheel (the wheel on the front on the air filter side of the turbo)

I believe the R32 GTR also has ceramic exhaust wheel. not sure about R33 GTR.

that is why people tend to upgrade to N1 turbo's which are steel wheel.

R32 GTST - R34 GTT (all single turbo skylines) all have Ball Bearing turbo's.

Whitenight - no.. it does not mean you can get 225rwkw out of a T28 from an S15 when on a skyline.

The S15 turbo will be a downgrade to the RB25 stock turbo.

it is smaller and will flow less.

it is also a different bolt pattern which would require more mods to fit.

S15 turbo's are good upgrades for CA18's or SR20's from the S13 range.

and usually also go good for those that Turgo charge their 4agze which is the 1.6L supercharged toyota engine.

You need to get over urself mate :P

I have seen a dyno of 215rwkw on an s15 with a t28 b/b turbo, also did have cams and on an rb25 it may make more power due to the engine... but thats really really at the max of the turbo mate, its not usual to see that kind of figure!

What you believe as a correct fact in regards to a WRX vs R33 could also be regarded as incorrect unless you have both cars in stock standard form to compair?

Do you think you can stop laying into me about trying to help, its not as if i said this is how it is hints y i asked for any1 to correct me which you wanted to do in a smart ass manner... wouldn't of said anything if you would of said 'actually Jazza r32s also have ceramic turbo's' instead of ill correct you again.

Dont think im asking too much to not get attitude do you?

Scathing -

yeh that would be Brentons right?

I think he had in the region of 225 rwkw with a lot of other mods apart from the turbo.

Scathing, if you are the same scathing on other forums, then you'll know Dale.

and I think that night you were hitting 14 flat in the tree fiddy... if that is you..

Yep, and yep.

Very unimpressed with my ET. There's definitely more in the car, but after I set the 14 flat I just got a little too excited trying to break my NA light-tune barge into the 13's, and ended up screwing up the next couple of launches.

I figured you were talking about Dale before. The other thing about Dale's car is that his suspension is set up for the track. He did soften the dampers out and run lower-than-normal pressures, but the rest of the geometry is still very circuit oriented.

And he was using the D01J's which, with their ultra-stiff sidewalls, aren't the best drag tyre in the world.

the only time I got down there, it was a good day.

Greg (not old man but the other one... Sellby I think it is (the suspension dude)) was there and he helped out a few of us first timers.

anyway, after a few soggy laps in my S14 with S15 stock suspension, I parked it and went for a drive with Dale.

after seeing/feeling the way his car taking the corners with the teins and DJ01's, I didn't take my car back out.. I was quite scared being in his car and the corner speed and late braking that he could do.

Brenton was there and he put on a set of yokahama slicks.

hahahaha

I had asked him to take me for a spin in his at lunch, but after experiencing what Dales car co do with less power (he had his boost controller down to 11psi) and with just semi slicks, I chickened out of a ride with brenton..

hahahahaha

Yeah s14 i would say 170rwkw to 180rwkw and a 1/4 mile in the mid to high 13's...just my 2 cents

My mate has these mods and dynoed 160rwkw but that dyno reads 10% low, so it will also depend on the dyno you get the reading from, gear, tyre psi and dyno mode etc.

    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
    • Here's an idea, answer the questions I asked you as they are trying to work out WHY the LSD will be binding up in a straight line.
    • You haven't driven many modern cars then have you? Most of them have sfa steering feel with their stupid electric bullshit steering systems.
