Hi all. Looking for a part and would rather purchase locally, hence this is here.

I'm after the little white part that goes from the speedo cable to the back of the actual speedo. It's a little cylinder, white plastic, with a square piece that comes out the tube that actual drives the speedo unit. There's a spring that comes out of the other end. It's only 5cm long. I can provide a photo. This part normally stays in the speedo cable when the speedo unit is removed, but mine came out and broke.

Hey brods, I had this very problem about a week ago. I did some searching and found that it's a rather common problem when the dash unit is taken out.

Did it completely brake off or is it repairable? I had some cracks in the spring end and it wouldn't grab the speedo cable and turn. I found that many people just glue this up and tape it.

I used some good thin tape around it, and but everything back in. It works like a treat, (touch wood).

The spring is shagged. So is the base of the cylinder.
