I love it when they think they are faster. I had an experience like that. New BA Falcon with the guy inside wearing a FPV hat. I knew he was going to try and drag so I took off at a medium pace shifting at around 4000rpm and I finnished just in front. Next lights I didnt bother at all and he was stoked. Third set I launch as hard as I can and manage to get it perfect and shift hard up to about 110km/h. His face was priceless he was all smug then when I launched it his jaw hit the floor. I was just like :uh-huh: thats right buddy feel the shame.

i must agree, commodore drivers have some kind of ego when it comes to skylines.

a couple of weeks ago when i was being dropped home (i think Veilside dropped me home) a VK followed us all the way from Hindmarsh going past woden all the way into badimara street tailing us. we turned of into my street and they decided to hit the gas and showoff because we didnt go them. maybe its like bulls when they see red they go rogue maybe commodore drivers when they see skylines they just forget everything and decide there the man?

almost every bald middle aged man in his "oh crap im having a mid life crisis, i need a sports car but the wife will shoot me if i buy something impartical GET OVER IT!!!!

What if he happens to be driving a "practical" SII Stagea and tends to upset people at the lights - because station wagons are not supposed to be quick!

Maybe I need to grow some hair.

Settle on the middle age shite lads. You'll be there soon enough.

I love my beast, I can't help getting older................and faster.

I don't wanna grow up OK! Is it Peter Pan syndrome ?

(must admit tho it freaks me to see other middle age wankers - even tho I might be considerd 1 in the GTR). We'll sort that out on the track.

My other car was a weekend track queen.... 260Z 2+2, FIA 72 rally cam, close ratio box, 4.375:1 lsd, 200lb/inch adjustable suspension, half cage, no muffler.... it was my daily driver. Mind you, it took a few years to reach that stage. It sits in the driveway now, minus the good box, diff and the cage - still an absolute blast to drive, more fun that the 240 for cornering, but slow as a wet week (88kw at wheels vs ~ 140). And I NEVER got pulled over.

Yep, I have the FTO with the black bonnet, it wasn't CF, but someone poured some battery acid on it or something so I thought I'd paint the bonnet black to see what it looks like.

The whole car is painted BA mercury silver now with full body kit waiting for someone that wants a rice car to take it off my hands.

Back to Canberra. Damn I know Canberra roads are good, but they really need to know when to back off. I mean what's the point in going on the wrong side of the road after you have lost. only going to get themselves or someone else killed.

Anyway, carscene getting better in Canberra, was at woden food court the other day and there were 2 180sx and a s14a parked outside. if it wasn't so cold I'd consider moving back.

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
