RTA 13B
Would like to know the reliability of the factory airflow sensor on a R33 RB25DET. How long do they usually last? What are the symptoms of one failing? How much does a replacement cost? Or is it better just to use aftermarket equipment? What are the symptoms of one failing? How much does a replacement cost? Or is it better just to use aftermarket equipment? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They're a fairly simple thing so should be fairly reliable but i've owned a skyline of one kind or another since early 2002 and had 2 afms die on me in that time, tbh it's hard to say how reliable they are as there's no real centralised info. Symptoms of failure would be cutting out under load, stalling etc etc and this could be very intermittent depending upon the actual afm fault. Replacement standard, used afms can be had for very little, sub $100 but it's always a gamble of being a dud... then at the far end you could go for the z32 or q45 afm with supporting mods or afm'less with the right ecu... plan for the long term. it's better to use aftermarket stuff if your ultimate plan for your car says it's better in the long run Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/82123-reliability-of-factory-airflow-sensor/#findComment-1523995 Share on other sites
