Some guy on another forum, claims that R33 GTS came with RB20 engines, I certainly never heard of a R33 with RB20 stock from factory?

All I know is that they have RB25DE for the GTS and GTS-4

RB25DET for GTS-T

RB26DETT for GTR

Am I right or there was really a RB20 in existance?

RB20DE & RB20DET do exist, these are the engines for R32 GTS and GTS-t respectively.

I am not sure if any R33 variant uses RB20 engines, but I've read in HPI Magazine that R34 variants do come in RB20DE (GT-X ??), RB25DE (GT-S ??), & RB25DET (GT-T), so there is a possibility that some R33 GTS do equipped with the less inspiring RB20DE, I would say probably the 4-door model as some sedan variant are just like commuter/shop Corollas.

I would say it will make more sense that the coupe model only comes in RB25DE & RB25DET as more power is desired for sporty models.

Well just found out they do exists, but goddamn is there even 0.01% of a chance someone in this world would actually have a website with a RB20DE R33 or R34 lol.

I bet these would be quite a rare sight to see. :D

Thanks for your help.

Yeah, no probs.

A bit correction on my own post anyway...

RB20DE is R34 GT

RB25DE is R34 25GTX, and

RB25DET is R34 25GTT,

and of course...

RB26DETT = R34 GT-R !!!

also once saw a gunmetal 32 around perth with a RB25DE (had a GTS25 sticker on the rear), unless the wannabe forgot the t on the end :-)

nup, this is a real model. N/A rb25 r32

yeah it still goes alright, i only got it to get used to the feel of the type of car and also didnt want all that extra turbo power straight away..... besides, i dont really care if it doesnt fly around everywhere on turbo etc...... it gets me around, and i like the type of car

wrong - try this instead:

GTS & GTS Type-G - RB20E

GTS25 & GTS25 Type-G - RB25DE

GTS4 - RB25DE

GTS Type-S & GTS25 Type-S - RB25DE

GTS25t Type-M - RB25DET

GTR & GTR V-Spec - RB26DETT

.. and just out of interest - all R33 GTS25t (or R33 GTS-T as they can also be known) are Type-M .. the Type-M does not mean it is a higher spec model as it was with the R32 Skyline.

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
