try belbowrie out near indooroopilly really surburban and quiet during the day (unless you have skylines roaring down the streets) been there a few times real country no live stock on the roads there all fenced in and not many police at all. kids well its too hot there most of the time to go out on the streets and its farming country and flat so you would see them. nice bending roads and some really good spots

Guys, this is a public forum. We should neither discuss proposed illegal road drifting venues or be seen to encourage it. 1. If you do, people will know where you will be and what you'll be doing. 2. Bad image for the club.

I have organised 2, and attended 3 skidpan days in the past with this and another club. I am currently talking with the guys who run these events about doing another one and moving to another venue as well, so sit tight, there will be mad legal safe drifting soon.

Thanks Slip,

Guys please ensure you read the terms and conditions of the forums. There are many links to them. If you can still not find them, there is a link in my sig.

Wecker Rd, Mansfield has a nice industrial estate. I just said that because I am supporting local bussiness, they have tire, hardware and wreckers along there. DO NOT DRIFT THERE IT IS A BAD THING but on a side note theres some nice wide roads with 45 degree gutters (the "good" ones) and its away from houses. Again, good local bussinesses that should be supported and drifting is BAD BAD BAD.

Another side note, thats where I blew the diff in my kingswood. I was doing a simple u-turn. Thats all I swear.

moderators, i think that there not discussing illegal drifting, there discussion the best place to drift, in which case im sure they would be consulting there local council on holding some sort of drift event legalised similar to the street sprints in events section...with closed of roads etc

  • 2 weeks later...

I have been to a few nite events held by SR20 club...its all the way out @ Queensland raceway(willowbank complex) but it doesnt seem to bad an event..$70 once u a member and u can get them to supply some snow tyres fitted up for the hell of not costing you rubber...

VERY, VERY interested if some people can get together to find a good venue closer to bris...

Other then that, the local business @ Brendale isn't doing to bad either.............wink,wink!!

    • @Darrel It's so tempting to say e85 is borderline magic. It cools the intake charge, so if you're flirting with the edge of the turbos compressor map it helps dramatically cool down the hot air the turbos are pumping. It is very resistant to detonation so you can crank the timing, I don't really want to say you won't be knock limited anymore.... but you probably wont be knock limited anymore lol. I wouldn't be surprised if you made 20% more power swapping to e85 (provided you have the fuel system to support them, bigger injectors maybe bigger pump etc).
    • @Murray_Calavera nah, not available yet, they're gearing up for it but won't be available for a few years. So you reckon fuel is the main issue? When this bottom did over 600rwhp it was running big single, twin Z32 MAFs and believe it or not, e manage blue, an old school piggyback 😅 not really a fair comparison but I guess it shows how a big single differs to smallish twins.
    • @Darrel Can you get pump e85 where you are? If you want to max out those turbos, e85 + bigger modern injectors will be the easiest way to get you there.
    • Hi @Butters , thanks for your reply. Pump 97 BTW but yeah, I get that old tech is what it is and can't compare to modern stuff but I still believe 500 is achievable, even with these smallish twins. Their effective limit is around what, 24 psi? Intend to go single one day but then again, I'm not chasing big power and might not be worth the investment. Just wondering what if any factors are limiting my setup after a few changes. Let's call this Dyno 02. This is after R35 MAFs, 720cc injectors, DW300 FP, HKS step 2 264/264 cams.
    • Was away on holidays last week and hadn't heard from powder coater, so I gave them a bell and it was all ready. Went and picked it up yesterday and gave it a clean this afternoon and started bolting it up.  Mate finally got around to ordering my new ECU, hopefully thats here this week and I can start getting that mounted and finish the wiring on it. Tomorrow I'll try and get the exhaust back in and see what else I can tick off the list
