Next time you have the police following you, just pull in to the next servo or McDonalds/whatever.  Either it will force them to do something or they will piss off.  It can be a bit of a hassle but I'd rather waste 2 minutes than have to drive with 1 and 1/2 eyes on the speedo.

A friend did this and the police followed them into the maccs and stoped them and ask him to pop the bonnet and they defected him for the POD.

That's the point though: if they are going to follow you in to Maccas, they are going to follow you as long as they can to get you for some dicky speeding or traffic infringement and even if you do nothing wrong, I'll bet they will still pull you over to give the car the once over.

i get plenty of "incidents" while driving my HR31 GTS-x.

Had a dead stock hyundai excel try to race me. I just laughed and keapt driving casually. When he/she began to slow down, i shifted down and gave them a nice ear-full (fealt like being a bastard that day).

I'd type up some more, but im too tired to remember :) and the alcohol is beggining to flow in my veins

Also get those "fully sicks" in their swifts or what ever with a cannon muffler and chromes who try and cruise with you and eventually race you, thinking their car is done up or something, which i always find funny.

I had a 4wd incident on the day I got my car. I purchased my car from Autostyle and was driving home. I live in St Ives so I go up King Georges Rd, past Homebush under the Pacific highway, it becomes Mona Vale Rd and I follow it all the way to St Ives. I was going under the Pacific Highway in the left of two lanes. Now just past the under bridge heading towards St Ives a 3rd lane starts on the left which is the down ramp from the highway. A driver of a 4wd coming down the down ramp from the highway didn’t even look and without indicating started to change lanes. His wheels would have come within about 5cm of my door before I saw what was going on. I looked right of me and saw no one was there and swerved into the far right lane. If someone was there I would have been rooted. I jumped on my horn and the driver with his whole family in the car let go of the wheel and almost lost control swerving back into his lane and nearly running up the gutter.

Happens to me twice a week. I just change to the right hand lane now, without thinking about it.

  • 3 months later...

every one seems to wanna climb up my arse and then swerves round me cause i aint doing the speed they want to do ...

and the cops seem to wanna follow me like a lost dog ... i swear its bad enough with my parents telling me wot to do but to keep an eye on the cops as well is annoying and 1 and 1/2 eyes on the speedo

Traffic Lights are bad for me.

Every "hotted up" car tries to race me. Fromt stock Dihatsu Charades to R8 HSV Clubsports.

Had a few Rexy's rev at the lights aswell.

I'm so over it, I rev back, and take off normally, don't even bother. They get their 3 second thrill and then realise that Im building up to the speed limit.

Thats so true, my last race was against an s2000 , he learnt that our cars are faster the hard way B)

nearly got t boned tonight coming home from bondi, stupid girl without even looking ran a red light (i was going through the green) i saw it coming so started to brake and avoid so i was not going to hit her and in the meantime she realised a bit too late and ended up one lane into the path of oncoming cars after locking up.

the look on her face(OH F..**!!!!!!!!!) when she realised what was happening and was looking right at me through my windscreen sort of made it better :P

yeh tell me about these hoons......

i have had my R32 for about 1 week and for the 3 days it was running i had about 3 people try to race me at the lights.........like wats the point of racing on the streets in 60 zones :P

can u just do the drive through in maccs and buy a coffee or something, so they cant get u to pop ur bonnet mid way in the drive through can they?

I couldnt agree more with fraser, bout the road rage thats happening, I grive my R32 GTR once every fortnight and then, i like to enjoy my drive and not worry bout others cutting me off etc. I had a great run with the new SSZ ute, on the city west link heading away from norton street liechardht, i pulled up to the lights and noticed the ssz pulled up, older guy 35 or so, started revving the engine, but i didnt think anything of it,

The lights went green, hes goonnnnne, so i took off after him, hes revving the shit out of it, redline to cut out, i snapped 2nd, blew him stupid, at which time im 2 bus lenghts away, then we r approaching the anzac bridge tunneland he punches it again, once again i got surprised , take off, 2nd, 3rd, at which time, im sitting on 190km at the crest of the bridge then hit 4th, and hopeing that cops arent sitting on the other side, ssz boy decides to pull up next to me once we hit the fish markets and said " i had you at the lights " to which i replied, " you've got no chance, you granny shift ? to which he got ripped and drove into the city, and i turned left onto the harbour bridge, So i dedicate the rego of SSZETA to all ss ute drivers ( I used to wn one also, so i know how the go ).

Is this the kind of post to be boasting about??? The reputation of all import performance car owners is jeopardised by this kind of pimple headed, backward baseball cap wearing tripe. If you want to race at these speeds, I highly recommend WSID or a track day, not through suburban streets. These forums are regularly browsed by Mr Plog and this kind of stuff just adds more justification for them to make life more difficult to all of us. Next time you have the urge to drive like a boy racer, can you let us all know so we can park our machines and stay right out of your way.

    • I had 3 counts over the last couple of weeks once where i got stranded at a jdm paint yard booking in some work. 2nd time was moving the car into the drive way for the inspection and the 3rd was during the inspection for the co2 leak test. Fix: 1st, car off for a hour and half disconnected battery 10mins 4th try car started 2nd, 5th try started 3rd, countless time starting disconnected battery dude was under the hood listening to the starting sequence fuel pump ect.
    • This. As for your options - I suggest remote mounting the Nissan sensor further away on a length of steel tube. That tube to have a loop in it to handle vibration, etc etc. You will need to either put a tee and a bleed fitting near the sensor, or crack the fitting at the sensor to bleed it full of oil when you first set it up, otherwise you won't get the line filled. But this is a small problem. Just needs enough access to get it done.
    • The time is always correct. Only the date is wrong. It currently thinks it is January 19. Tomorrow it will say it is January 20. The date and time are ( should be ! ) retrieved from the GPS navigation system.
    • Buy yourself a set of easy outs. See if they will get a good bite in and unthread it.   Very very lucky the whole sender didn't let go while on the track and cost you a motor!
    • Well GTSBoy, prepare yourself further. I did a track day with 1/2 a day prep on Friday, inpromptu. The good news is that I got home, and didn't drive the car into a wall. Everything seemed mostly okay. The car was even a little faster than it was last time. I also got to get some good datalog data too. I also noticed a tiny bit of knock which was (luckily?) recorded. All I know is the knock sensors got recalibrated.... and are notorious for false knock. So I don't know if they are too sensitive, not sensitive enough... or some other third option. But I reduced timing anyway. It wasn't every pull through the session either. Think along the lines of -1 degree of timing for say, three instances while at the top of 4th in a 20 minute all-hot-lap session. Unfortunately at the end of session 2... I noticed a little oil. I borrowed some jack stands and a jack and took a look under there, but as is often the case, messing around with it kinda half cleaned it up, it was not conclusive where it was coming from. I decided to give it another go and see how it was. The amount of oil was maybe one/two small drops. I did another 20 minute session and car went well, and I was just starting to get into it and not be terrified of driving on track. I pulled over and checked in the pits and saw this: This is where I called it, packed up and went home as I live ~20 min from the track with a VERY VERY CLOSE EYE on Oil Pressure on the way home. The volume wasn't much but you never know. I checked it today when I had my own space/tools/time to find out what was going on, wanted to clean it up, run the car and see if any of the fittings from around the oil filter were causing it. I have like.. 5 fittings there, so I suspected one was (hopefully?) the culprit. It became immediately apparent as soon as I looked around more closely. 795d266d-a034-4b8c-89c9-d83860f5d00a.mp4       This is the R34 GTT oil sender connected via an adapter to an oil cooler block I have installed which runs AN lines to my cooler (and back). There's also an oil temp sensor on top.  Just after that video, I attempted to unthread the sensor to see if it's loose/worn and it disintegrated in my hand. So yes. I am glad I noticed that oil because it would appear that complete and utter catastrophic engine failure was about 1 second of engine runtime away. I did try to drill the fitting out, and only succeeded in drilling the middle hole much larger and now there's a... smooth hole in there with what looks like a damn sleeve still incredibly tight in there. Not really sure how to proceed from here. My options: 1) Find someone who can remove the stuck fitting, and use a steel adapter so it won't fatigue? (Female BSPT for the R34 sender to 1/8NPT male - HARD to find). IF it isn't possible to remove - Buy a new block ($320) and have someone tap a new 1/8NPT in the top of it ($????) and hope the steel adapter works better. 2) Buy a new block and give up on the OEM pressure sender for the dash entirely, and use the supplied 1/8 NPT for the oil temp sender. Having the oil pressure read 0 in the dash with the warning lamp will give me a lot of anxiety driving around. I do have the actual GM sensor/sender working, but it needs OBD2 as a gauge. If I'm datalogging I don't actually have a readout of what the gauge is currently displaying. 3) Other? Find a new location for the OEM sender? Though I don't know of anywhere that will work. I also don't know if a steel adapter is actually functionally smart here. It's clearly leveraged itself through vibration of the motor and snapped in half. This doesn't seem like a setup a smart person would replicate given the weight of the OEM sender. Still pretty happy being lucky for once and seeing this at the absolute last moment before bye bye motor in a big way, even if an adapter is apparently 6 weeks+ delivery and I have no way to free the current stuck/potentially destroyed threads in the current oil block.
