Help the swede(s)... umm :) [guide]

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone at skylinesaustralia.com :P

I'm a 21 year old guy (philip) from Stockholm, Sweden - home of GiS and Ghostrider.

Anyway - I'm going to Sydney (and hopefully a lot of other places around australia)

and figured, since I've grew to become one of Zatzy.com´s

"filmographers", I might bring my camera to check out what's

going on downunder...

So what's up with this thread then... ?

Well, Since I basicly don't know anyone that's connected to legal

(or illegal for that matter) streetracing/racing @ strip I ended up

here - asking for your help.

If you know of any car fairs, shows, cruises, races etc please

send me a PM. It'd be fun to show off some skylines, as there's only

about 5 or 6 of them in Sweden.

Zatzy.com sports 11 000 members, most of which love streetracing

and modified/tuned cars more than anything else.

So if you own, or know, cars that you think might be of interest

for me to film please send me a PM - preferably adding a link or

pictures of the car(s) ...

I'll touch down in Sydney January 27th and stick around Australia

for about ~100 days - till the middle of may anyway.

All answers, mails, ICQ messages, PM's are greatly apreciated :wavey:

If you feel like checking out some of my previous footage follow

the links below... you'll need divX 5.02 (or later) to see them.

I'll be in Sydney - starting January 27th. Not sure how long I'll stay

in Sydney though, but probably for a couple of weeks... Then I'm

off to.... um... somewhere else :(

Oh, I'd really like to hear some opinions on my flicks... at least

this one... >>

It's nice......That burnout comp looks pretty dangerous!!

You have some sweet cars in Sweden. Good to see a GTi-R in there......

Dangerous in what way? There are concrete "cops" in front of the cars

to prevent them from (eventually) running into the crowd...

The event was sponsored by the store, it's a chain called MDS...

Some of their democars are listed below... :(

First price was a set of new M/T Slicks... :)

The Yellow EVO6 in the Fc&Fs-movie's the worlds fastest (measured)

EVO6, it's running 1/4 @ 10.89s - 214.3 km/h...

It's been in Max Power...blablabla... yadda yadda :)

I'm thinking of filming it this summer if i grow thin on material from Oz...

aaaaahhh.....I couldn't see the concrete.......

can't blame you, it was hard enough to see the cars, standing right next to them... :)

Nice holes in the ground afterwards too... molten pits of asphalt :uh-huh:

So, did you like the Fc&Fs (fast cars & furious sound fair) movie?

Rating? 1-10... ? :(

Hey, that sounds nice :burnout:

How many cars'll show up?

Where's it at?

etc...? =)

Somewhere in New South Wales, No exact date or location set yet as we're still organising it! Should have quite a few cars along....

Last July we had a big BBQ and had this many cars turn up (see picture below) But now we have like twice the amount of members so it should be nice and big....

I think I might be able to join in if I could tag along (preferably with you since you seem to be in charge, and have the know-how)

edit: Lovely pics btw... seems like nice cars and a real sweet spot =)

always picking on the little bloke

MULL, if you were to come to Sydney one day earlier (26th Jan) we can take you to the Wollongong cruise. I promise you it's worth changing your arrival day for. Plenty of cars of all walks of life go there to meet each Sunday of the Summer but especially on this weekend as it's a holiday weekend. anyway, hope you enjoy your trip to Aus and find what you are looking for

    • To back this up, I'm always looking on the outside, seeing the level, and then opening it up anyway, as I'm worried the level I've looked at, is more so a scunge line. Then you end up dipping your damn finger in it too depending on the type of tank you're looking at just to make sure I'm not going insane.   PS, Mark, polish up the none moroso one a bit and then give it a clear coat. The Moroso one looks to be way shiner (not mirror polished, just shinier) and it'll still look weird with the two different alloys beside each other. Either that, or Id probably paint them a flat black...
    • Good old Orange Park hey... 😛   f**k I miss that race track
    • lo, it was a death trap. Good times. Got any Fatz Drift Day DVDs still available?
    • Yes, overthinking. Many PS reserviors are completely opaque. Our Skyline ones, for example. Have to remove lid, peak inside, swirl the dipstick, try to remember how to read it, etc etc. Normal. Radiator overflows are often sufficiently opaque and scunged up that you can't see the true level inside anyway, and have to open and have a peak. Besides which, I replaced the (massively expensive, even back then) plastic overflow in my Alfa GTV, back in the '90s with a stainless one that I had a good fabricator make up to be dimensionally same-same, that looks remarkably similar to the Bogan's Moroso one above, and I never suffered any particular paranoia that I didn't know how much coolant was in it.
    • Looks great, but I'm always concerned that it makes it difficult to see what level the fluids are at. Am I overthinking this?
