In the new HPI there was a article on a 2835, 3037 and 3040 turbos used on a sr20, the 2835 had more than 250rwkw with the 3037 only slightly higher but with a lot less low end response and the 3040 heaps more top but very laggy. It will be laggyer than stock but on a rb25 it shouldnt be too bad.

You really need to get a turbo that will make the power you want at a boost level you want to run. You could get a 2835 that will be more responsive and make as much power as the 3037 it would need to run more boost.

Driving through the hills shouldnt be a problem as with my turbo which only makes good boost a 4000rpm you just keep it in the rev range and hang on.

Given the 2835 on sr20 was suitable then the 3037 should be OK on a rB25. However boost characteristics like yours wouldnt be suitable for me.

I may give you a visit mid year. I hang out with Chris a bit and seen some of your work. With the turbo and standard intercooler coming off my R33 I have been thinking about bolting them onto my R31 Wagon and running low boost. Not looking to build a weapon just give it some overtaking power when towing. So would need some pipework. Cheap and nasty as possible.

I still have to way up the pro's and con's if its going to cost too much I wont bother.

I've seen the 3037 on an RB25, and aslong as you have a decent exhaust manifold then it will spool up relatively quickly, about 3200-3700 depending on setup. To maximise spool-up, improve the intake manifold, exhaust manifold and port and polish the head. This should give you the 3200rpm spool-up. Will also depend on the ratios of the housings, smaller exhaust housing will spool quickest.

Should produce shitloads of power, even at relatively low boost.

It wasn't too bad down low, but at 3000+ as the revs climbed then you had to hang on pretty tight. Car feels good, it's probably worth holding normal gear changes off for an extra 1000rpm, so that you always near the boost when driving. That is instead of doing 60km/hr in 4th, do it in third and you'll be closer to the power, makes for fun driving.

Still a very streetable car, not the same if on a 2litre, then the boost comes on all at once, much more difficult to drive.
