hmmm, depends what "hi-flowed" means to them. What they can do is cut a hole in the top of it, rip everything out of it, and weld the top back on. In which case there should be a patch of weld around the top of it, Which means you wont be able to see it unless you take it off.

dude, i jus got my r32 complied and registered and can tell u for a fact that compliance ppl are dodgy as! They (usually) put the cheapest cat they can get so their costs are down. i made the mistake of not keeping the old 1 they pulled out, as a result i have had a noticable drop on power! Unless u kno the guy doin the job and u can trust them den its ok. Doesn't really answer ur question but anywayz......

i didnt know that a high flow cat made much difference over a stadard cat? though you can pick a decent 3.5" one for about 250-300 bucks depending on where you go. the standard cat is hell small though. do take note that its illegal to not have a cat coverter.

Well the compliance guys said that they need to change the cat anyway for compliancing and that for an extra $100 i can get a hi-flow one.. but i just had a look... the actual cat isnt that much bigger than the exhaust pipe.. i'm not sure if my exhaust is 3in or 3.5in.. it looks pretty big though....
