Fri 14&29th Oct Drive Day, At The Creek $120

Recommended Posts

All,

If you want to do a track day at Eastern Creek, this is the cheapest option since Moto Concepts were kicked out. It’s a Private practice day run by the ARDC, you will need a L2S or C3 licence to attend.

There are actually 2 days.

Friday the 14th Oct 05 and 29th Oct 05

Details can be found at

http://www.eastern-creek-raceway.com/ Click on Private Practice.

Cost $120 for the Day!

You will need to be an SAU Member and part with $80 bucks for a CAMS L2S licence if you dont already have a CAMS licence.

If you want tickets to the V8's then become a member of the ARDC ($150) and the cost becomes $80 for the day!

Normal non flammable head to toe cloths and a Helmet will get you in, and a road worthy car, they do check them!

These guys run the day very much like a race meet so they can waist a little bit of time being pedantic, but its always good value. With only Cars and L2S they are likely to run alternate 20 or 30 min sessions all day.

Im going to the Friday and Maybe then again on the next one.

Abo was keen as well.

Please let me know if you want to come, and I will contact the creek to let them know the numbers. No need for deposits or anything, you can arrive on the day but they do ask you let them know so they can balance numbers. Please dont commit unless you are 100% coming, no keyboard warriors, I dont want to advise the ADRC we are coming with 15 cars and only have 5 turn up. If you commit, the only excuse I will accept is a dead car or family member.

I will continue to update this post with names.

For this and all other questions it may be best to call them direct 96721000, but I thought I saw other cars with slicks last time I was out there, perhaps they were semi?

azzr32, see you there, your on the list.

vogi000, Contact Dunkan or one of the other committee members. It takes 2 weeks for your book to come through, but you can drive on the day with a receipt.

just one thing to check is that these two dates are not C3 only days. quite a few of the car practice sessions are reseved for C3 (now PC) licence holders only. there are L2S ones too though.

I may be up for it, but i'll let you know when i am certain. Should be a nice day out providing it's not too hot by then. We raced at EC on the weekend and on the saturday it was very hot already! :D

You don't really need to confirm the spot although I think Paul will be letting them know. They don't enforce limits on the number of cars at these days so you wont miss out.

Re the license Adam can give you one on the day if you are an SAU club member. Otherwise go to the CAMS site ASAP, download and send back the license application form for L2S

I'm just trying to figure it out.

The form on the website is sent directly to CAMS, there's no facility for the club issued licences on it, and no need for a club rep to fill anything out.

The forms CAMS sends to the club have the "Temporary" slip on them.

When you rock up to one of these days, or any CAMS sanctioned event, as a competitor they should ask for both your CAMS Licence and your club membership card ( to show you are a member of a CAMS affiliated club).

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
    • So M12 and sealant should be fine?    NPT ” because that’s what I had and what I could get atm.
