It will be interesting... Wonder how they will perform.

As a police car those SS commodores have been a tried and tested package. Now the VY SS highway patrol - im beginning to see them out and about. Motor ran the VY SS to 13.9 sec quarter mile, as opposed to the XR6T 14.1 I believe.

Either way, I don't intend on finding out how quick they are when following... :burnout:

It wouldn't be the best idea doing a runner from a highway patrol car. They are quick and the police that drive them are professionally trained drivers, who i guarantee drive better than most of us skyline owners. I have had a chase before and it is much easier to follow someone than to be ahead.

Really? I'd have thought it would be the other way around if the cars where evenly matched in performance....

But I've never been in a chase so I can't say.....

It is easier because they see you hit a corner at 50 km/h and then they know they can also make it at 50 as they have good cars with ample power just as we do...

Theres one thing i know about cops but and that is that nearly every undercover that has pulled me over has been "human" and every highway patrol likes giving out fines by the dozen... Don't the highway patrol cars have a certain quota of fines to give per shift or sumfin???

Morgs: I was reffering to a situation if the car was stolen... ie those guys in Sti's and skylines the other week... they had to stop the chase because of the acceleration of the other cars...

The main point i was making was it doesnt really matter what kind of car they drive :D as you said all they need is your number plate. And even if they did have 11 sec cars, they would have to stop a chase anyway as it is unsafe...

It's pointless trying to getaway cause when they do catch you, their just going to be tem times more rough on you for making their lives harder. Either way, your stuffed so don't make it any harder on yourself.

In Canberra we have a marked Magna! I talked to the cop driving it and he said its a piece of shit on trial from Mitsubishi.

We also have Volvo patrol, a marked WRX, and a couple of unmarked rexs.

I wonder if the AFP will get Evo VIIIs if they come out here?!

That would be cool!

I'd say there may well be a few R35 V8s when they come out!

    • You still want a proper tune on the stock ECU though. Stock tune + stock ECU with GT-SS/-9s is probably playing with fire if you're running more than stock airflow/power.

    • There was a great one on Victoria Rd in Gladesville too back in the day. I can only assume GTSBoy is thinking of the mill up on the wollondilly, no restaurant there any more but they have restored the original steam engine on site and run it every few months, have an annual steampunk festival etc @The Bogan, you came to the wrong town for restaurants. we have a few reasonable asian and indian options but the Paragon is as good as it gets otherwise. That brewery is apparently just opened, been meaning to give it a go some time. The Highlands have plenty of fancy options but I suspect you are more a hearty eater than fancy eater
