i wanna get a Galant VR-4 [the old one]

They are good , rallied one to 3rd o/r in the state championship in 1992. Bit heavy but surprisingly quick and anything you can do to an evo lancer , you can do to a VR$ ( except lose weight )

Cheers

Ken

Joe they are small and uncomfortable and feel like they have about as much power as the new corolla. No one at the toyota dealership liked them. Maybe im being harsh but not what im into.

Im driving my favourite car matey :P

So many cars how do u choose a favourite - there has to be a price limit or something to narrow it down!

its got huge brakes and 4wd too.

Brakes are no bigger than a line and it weighs more than a GTR.

Gearing is so high , it will fry the clutch b4 the tyres.

Hmmm , yea . trouble is a lot of the exotics ( Lambo , ferrari , lotus ) may look good until you have to live with them for a while.

Ever driven a Lambo countach and you will know what I mean, crap clutch , useless aircond , no room , engine fries your back in traffic .

But that wail of 12 cylinders in full cry ....... tissue !

Joe , I did Targa in a Porsche 911.

Trust me , they are glorified VW's except they go and stop. Steering wheel to the right , pedals to the left , can't get seat back far enough.....

haha Kens viagra :P

hmm if i had all the money in the world i would have no clue what i would buy - yeah those european fancy wancy cars are nice eye candy but I have no desire to own one - i have a heartattack everytime i have to leave mine in a public carpark - i think owning something like that would send me to the loney bin.

    • Make sure you use the spherical bushes** on the lower arms, ifyou do that. ** at least, if not the whole replacement lower arm.
    • The tap for coolant flow control will be stuck open. It's not just the air door motor that dies.
    • Not really, but the heater box is pretty simple mechanically....if the door is one way the air bypasses the heater core and if it is the other way it goes through it for warm air.  If you are sure the actuator you moved manually is for the heater mix (there would also be one for output air direction) then I'd take the heater box out and see what is happening (you'll have to regass and re-coolant the systems afterwards) BTW pp724 onwards from the GTR workshop manual cover the system in good detail, it is probably worth checking. I think the IAT sensor might be a problem electrically for getting cold (if you got 24 error code not -24 it thinks the incoming air is -50c) and it covers how to test the sensor (although most likely it is either not plugged in or a wire is damaged)
    • Use the GKTech subframe bush and bring your subframe 10mm closer to the chassis. You'll need to fix an exhaust hanger to suit. One of the best mods I've done.
    • You'd really have to pull it apart further to know, it least you can be confident that the one heading to the back is not connected any more. There was once a ground on the shifter seal mount too, your head unit issue could be that simple
