I've changed my home loan from a std 25 year mortgage to a offset/equity loan. I bought the house 2.8years ago for $85,000 its now been valued by the bank at $110,000. I've got the loan down to $70,000 by paying a bit extra each fortnight for the lasy 2.8years, so I've taken a low offset/equity loan at $82,000. So I've got a bit of extra cash lying around incase I need it, but cos its an offset loan I should pay it off much quicker than the std 25 year loan. Its a bit confusing but I sat down and did the figures, going as I was the 25 year loan would be paid off in another 12 years with the new offset loan it'll be closer to 3-5 years depending on how frugal I am, quicker if my wife gets another job too :( Stupid education dept wont give her a job in the metro area :P So yeah, we want some french doors to open out onto our courtyard and I want to do more work on the car :)

Powerfc will set me back around $1700 delivered new with controller, then plus fitting and tuning. The autronics is $3500 drive in and out, but has boost control built in (if I want to sell the blitz sbc will make the install cheaper), traction control, serial port connection to a laptop with easy to use PC software so I can **** with maps when I know what I'm doing.

    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
    • The best part is when you own the car long enough that you look back and find your OWN ham fisted amateur shit!
    • The annoying part about neglect, is when you start to replace one thing, and find ten more broken things. Ham fisted monkey repairs you normally only find out about when trying to do something unrelated! Ha ha   Neglect you can kind of anticipate the huge costs to fix it all. Ham fistedness is normally a shock the first time your work on a new old car, as everything "looked" good before.
    • For DBA, check out their guide table here. https://dba.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Direct_Replacement-Guide-2021.2.pdf   Additionally they have some other guides and info on how to make sure you choose the right pad.
    • Sorry, just assumed that talk of coloured pads meant EBC red/green/yellow/shit stuff. I don't know the DBA pads, but it's a reasonable bet that they will be OK. DBA make good stuff generally. Those 4000 series rotors I linked to are very good. I may well replace the RDA rotors I have with those when required.
