PHUCK!! $28K??? they wanted $25K for mine (was on consignment) got it for $20K which isnt too bad at the time.

Actually (used to be a costing clerk for Skippers) there isnt much loading put on the cars .... what i think happens is the wholesalers buy the car at a too higher price in the first time cos Hughsie has this "at all costs get the business" then they put the normal loading on it ..... which is only about $2K after any work they've had to do on it. Where they make the big $$$ is the add-ons ... warranty, tint ....etc.

But when it comes to imports ..... my dad knows hughsies buyer and apparently he screwed over a couple of friends of my dads.... i dont think he has the best import buyer working for him .... its a husband and wife team .... and the wife goes to me once "Thats a nice Supra you have!" Its a ZX!!! an import buyer that doesnt even know the models!!

Yeah they were a bit more expensive but my old man has brought 5 cars of him now and now knows John personally. Really long story. Ask me in person if ya really wanna know. Compression test? I had no idea what that was back then. and only know a little more. But they sought a couple of things out for me like insurance and i got my pick of car mats and shit,

haha Milo ...um mats n shit dont mean shit if your car blows up .... trust me those cars dont get driven lightly by the Salesreps ..... my ex picked me up in a Skyline once (white one) after we had broken up .... he was doing donuts in the middle of Vic Park in it .... hehe then stopped and about 10metres down the road was cops. Just hope Toby hasnt driven it ..... he's blown up about 3 cars there. Compression test would be the first thing i do if i bought any imports off a caryard.

It seems quite good so far... touch wood. That mathew flegg seemed a bit pushy if i remember. Coz we were not dealing with him, only this other guy named john (not hughes).

John hughes son took me out for a test drive in a burgandy Skiyline manual and he was awesome. Even told me to put my foot done a bit.... to see if i like it. Nah he was a serious straight forward guy. probablt coz he doesnt need to make any extra money.

haha but its not John Hughes .... Johns a great guy .... its the people he employees like Mat ..... These people take the cars home ..... those stories were tame - theres ones where guys have got drunk and kicked in door panels on WRX (actually that was my ex and an older married should know better mate of his)Just next time - John maybe a great trustworthy guy .... but none of his employees are especially Mat .... will PM you a little story about him .... just next time - get the cars checked over with a fine tooth comb!!

    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
    • There's not a great deal to report here .... except ...... FOR .... LSD!!!  I bought a Quaife LSD from the UK and shipped it here .... Wish I'd just bought locally cause the shipping and duty was $700! But there were so many diffs used in the E90s I just wanted to be absolutely certain I was getting the right one so I spoke with a supplier in the UK who builds race cars and they have heaps of experience with the E90s.  I pulled the diff out which was seriously awesome - I've never done anything like that before, I must have watched 1000 videos on YT about it as well as consulting the Bentley manual. It was super easy in the end. The diff was delivered to the awesome folks at Hornsby Diffs and will be back in a few weeks. I also replaced the diff bushings with some Nolathane ones.  Really looking forward to getting it back and getting back to the track or even the skidpan.
    • yeah... the 13kg/mm springs weren't always in there, I had 10kg/mm but doing a few SMSP commanded heavier front springs. It's so good now going into T1 and T2, just need more seat time and real tyres.
    • Yes, well. Mine are less than half that. ARBs are not set to "dumb" either.
    • I would hope. But, we all know even the best companies have an issue sporadically.
