Yes it is just for show really as I have quite a lot of sets of 15's (hr31 wheels the manifold is sitting on) and 16's the car will spend most of it's time running on.

And my speedo was way out on 195/50 15's so I suspect aftermarket diff ( was once pulled over for 90 in a 80 zone, speedo was readin a bit over 110) so that doesnt really worry me.

And yes this car has a very drift based setup, a motorsport alot of people on this forum wouldnt be interested in I know :P, thats why I really dont mention it or I seem to find old school people don't take you seriously even though I am and have been in the scene for quite a long time B)

Josh,

I got heaps of time for the drift guys, I will be at the nationals at the end of the month at Oran Park, but as a competitor, I can't see the value of destroying tyres like they do.

I also think there is more skill involved doing laps or hill climbs & preparing a car than simply pulling on the handbrake to get sideways and burning tyres staying that way.

As for Old School, I would have to be the OLDEST, I don't think there would be too many putting their hand up admitting they're older than me.

Each to their own I say, but you won't find my PNV drifting, unless I have gone into a corner a bit hot.

My aspirations lie in Targa or the East Coast Rally one day.

Cheers,

Dennis

It's all cool. I will still have my shot at collingrove for the hillclimbs and sprints at mallala as I love motor sport no matter what and also all of the competition between me and all my mates, but I know my one true love, MY DR30 . :P hehehe

With a few slight suspension changes here and there it should really do quite well on the track I reckon, as it has quite the setup and I love the feed back I get through the wheel driving it. :D

Mine origanally had had black with red stripes across the seats inserts, where as my good mates DR has a black interior with the full inserts red interior.

Before it hit a tree and returned bright green, you will also see 16 x 8 watanabe's

And after it cained a tree and was reborn (with my wheels on it of course) :)

That one isn't my car. It's a good mate of mines DR, but damn do I love it. Still yet to get of my but and spray my car.

As for the color coded bumpers I think it just makes it look a bit tacky. And just a much better look about it with all black bumpers, rather than just the black stripe down the center.

In the back ground you will also see a written off DR30 shell under the white cover. ;):D:(

Sorry, but I can't agree, I think the big bars look out of place against the thin line of the bump strips, but that's just my humble opinion.

I have done mock ups of mine & I think the clour coded bumpers look excellent, but mine is two tone, not just a single body colour.

Cheers

Thanks Adam,

You must think I'm a totally dumb ass deekhead.

Of course, my car as you know is white over grey. 002/028

I can't find the pic we did in photo shop, but my mate is looking for it on his PC, but we left the black to coincide with the black side strips and coloured the bottom of both bars the same grey and to me it looks pretty good and I think it will look better with the stock DR body kit done in the grey as well.

Each to their own I suppose, it would be very bland if they all looked the same eh!

But due to the rarety of my PNV I am keeping with the stock colours.

Cheers.

My side mirrors are chrome from factory!!

Dennis my car is white over black and my bumpers are black and it looks ok, but if i was having the car all the one colour it would have black bumper still, and i beleive that the car never came with that part of the skirt on it when he got the shell, hence its not there!

Neame's car looks sick as it is, looks tougher with Josh's wheels on it!!

Man its amazing theres a bodykit for a r30! Can someone give me some links to suppliers or something?

George,

We are talkin g about the factory body kit that comes standard on DR30 RS Turbo models, and it's nearly as hard to get as rocking horse sh!t.

Cheers,

Dennis

Your being unfair sen'ior.

I agree that all white like this looks very BLAND, but my ideas of colour coded bumpers is a lot different to this.

My car is 002 white over 028 grey and the door moulding is black.

What I propose is that the door mouldings and top of bumpers stay black and below this is 028 grey with all 002 white above.

Cheers

    • Yeah well per the video it took 15s for the stock unit to start up....even if I give it a few seconds discount for starting that is at least 12 sec before you get a reverse camera if you are trying to leave a park.  The android unit is way faster, but 2016 for the stock unit is a long time ago in consumer electronics
    • Yea that’s why I said ima test them with multimeter and see the reads.
    • Only at idle. Isn’t a problem when rev it seems.
    • @Haggerty This seems silly to ask, but are you confident in your ability to tune the Haltech?
    • Next on the to-do list was an oil and filter change. Nothing exciting to add here except the oil filter is in a really stupid place (facing the engine mount/subframe/steering rack). GReddy do a relocation kit which puts it towards the gearbox, I would have preferred towards the front but there's obviously a lot more stuff there. Something I'll have to look at for the next service perhaps. First time using Valvoline oil, although I can't see it being any different to most other brands Nice... The oil filter location... At least the subframe wont rust any time soon I picked up a genuine fuel filter, this is part of the fuel pump assembly inside the fuel tank. Access can be found underneath the rear seat, you'll see this triangular cover Remove the 3x plastic 10mm nuts and lift the cover up, pushing the rubber grommet through The yellow fuel line clips push out in opposite directions, remove these completely. The two moulded fuel lines can now pull upwards to disconnect, along with the wire electrical plug. There's 8x 8mm bolts that secure the black retaining ring. The fuel pump assembly is now ready to lift out. Be mindful of the fuel hose on the side, the hose clamp on mine was catching the hose preventing it from lifting up The fuel pump/filter has an upper and lower section held on by 4 pressure clips. These did take a little bit of force, it sounded like the plastic tabs were going to break but they didn't (don't worry!) The lower section helps mount the fuel pump, there's a circular rubber gasket/grommet/seal thing on the bottom where the sock is. Undo the hose clip on the short fuel hose on the side to disconnect it from the 3 way distribution pipe to be able to lift the upper half away. Don't forget to unplug the fuel pump too! There's a few rubber O rings that will need transferring to the new filter housing, I show these in the video at the bottom of this write up. Reassembly is the reverse Here's a photo of the new filter installed, you'll be able to see where the tabs are more clearing against the yellow OEM plastic Once the assembly is re-installed, I turned the engine over a few times to help build up fuel pressure. I did panic when the car stopped turning over but I could hear the fuel pump making a noise. It eventually started and has been fine since. Found my 'lucky' coin underneath the rear seat too The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLJ65pmQt44&t=6s
