So you expect 500rwhp? What boost levels do you intend for this? By my quick calculations, looks like around 20psi would be required... which sucks, cos the 2JZGTE will do 500 with 22, and a lot less work :D

Of course, my calculations could suck. I guess the best bet is to wait for your tuning to finish and see what power you get.

Miles B, We should get 500rwhp with about 14psi. The 2JZ is good up to a point, be seeing as the owner managed to destroy the bottom end it was decided that the 1UZ would provide a stronger base.

BigRod,

I believe the VQ45(Infinity) is for sale for about $3800 including auto box or $3500 without the box. There is also a VH41 around for about $2800 I think. Personally the Infinity is the better engine, plus with people having built them before there should be more info on them as a race engine.

Miles,

We are still trying to do the tuning, the car starts but the Autronic is being a real bitch to work with. We are swapping in a Wolf Ver 4 tommorow, and think it should be done in a couple days.

I'll post some pics and dyno readout once it is done.

GTS-T VSPEC been reading this thread i have a 1uzfe that i am installing into a 280z so far i have made extractors engine mounts and trans mount its still a long way off but any info on the install would be appreciated, am going to make it to the plex shortly so hope to catch you then

Chrisroi,

My mates have put this engine into a number of cars now, including Holden Utes and a 4WD. If you need any info then PM me or ask in this thread and I'll see if I can help.

My mates have also helped build a drag car with this engine an 2 700hp turbo's, hoping for 7's when it runs in the next few months.

kik-ass,

I'll speak to my mate who put the engine in and find out what modifications needed to be done. Then I'll let you know.

Miles B,

I haven't had any problems with the Wolf, and either have all the other people I know. There are plug'n'play ones for the GTS-t and GTR's which are actually better than the straight Wolf, but tuning is easy and I haven't come across and problems.

Any ideas if the motec does anything the wolf doesn't? The thing I like about the motec (other than I know it will definitely work - haven't heard a lot about the Wolf around here), is that motec offer training days for like 150 bucks. I dunno, when I get closer to doing the job, I might ask you for some more details.

You can get a 422cid LS1 Chevy Block here from MTI... its a small block and would fit in the S14 or the R33. My mate has a LT1 350cid motor in his S14. With the 422cid you wouldnt need to make much boost to pump 750whp out of it. I could source a 454cid Big Block but that would require a ton of work to fit. The 454 does make about 380 ft.lbs. of torque at 1800 rpm in stock n/a form.

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
