Ken is talking about his driveway, he want us all to go around an drift around his place.

Joking aside, it is high time that Perth had a much improved race circuit with drfit circuit and go-kart tracks. I apreciate that the WA Sporting Car Club deon't have sufficient funds to improve Barbagello to the standard required, we can barely hold onto the V8 Supercars, as we have one of the worst cicuits in the country.

The motorplex is an excellent venue, and a race circuit of this nature would be a very good idea. Motorsport is huge in WA and Australia, why doesn't the government provide some financial support for these sports?

I hope you are right Ken, and that we might have an appropriate venue soon.

See'ya:burnout:

Its not the standard of Barbagello fault that we are close to lusing the v8 supercars, there isnt anything wrong with barbagello. its just miles from the city and a city that is miles from anywhere else, what else could we get in perth? We have the wrc which is huge, a dedicated drift circuit? thats a bit wishful thinking, c-red and mc motorsport seem to do ok at barbagello. Drift is barely even a sport. Kinda like syncronised swimming

just wait and see who gets to redevelop the land next to the airport. someone has put in a proposal to turn it into a race track.

If you are talking about the proposed F1 circuit from that tosser Roberts then don't hold your breath.

This is the same flogstick who put the SAME proposal up at the old Military Market site in Midland AND the SAME proposal up to the council at the end of Nicholson Rd way.

The guy hasn't get 20c to scratch his arse with and he expects someone to cough up around $40 mil to build it.

What a wanker.:whackit:

As you can see I'm less than impressed with this idiot as he does nothing but alienate the general public against motorsport with his false promises.

Ken

C Red did a good job at Barbagallo but now have big problems arranging insurance thru CAMS ( ie. they don't want to know about drift ) which means that the WASCC won't lease it to Jeff for drift , er , training days.

That , and the hire fee is ridiculous which Jeff has to pass on to the entrants which then makes it too expensive.

Cheers

Not a chance phptf , I just got the paving relayed !

Seriously , there is gonna be a good venue announced shortly which will have some large open bitumen linked with some tightish , perfect for drift style corners .

It is NOT a burnout pad ( go to the plex for that ) and these people have the ability to cover there own insurance.

As I said , watch this space.

Oh , and btw , it will be within 20 mins of the cbd.

Cheers

Ken

    • After @Kinkstaah debacle, I'd never want to try and get it right 😛
    • The hood lines up with the fenders. The front bar doesn't perfectly line up with the fenders where the wheel arch is. You have to 'squeeze' the front bar 'in' as it wants to naturally flare out and be longer on the sides. There's a few threads where people notice this when they only swap a GTR style bumper and front bar. Unless you have genuine OEM items - you may be better served getting conversion kits. There are GTT bumpers to fit GTR hoods. There are GTR hoods (non genuine) to fit the GTT bracketry. MAY
    • The real question is, on some of those wild roads they call highways, how many times did a farmer in an old ute from the early 2000s blaze past you over double lines?   Tassie is a wild and really cool place, and after doing a work related road trip there January of 24, I understand why Targa Tasmania is ran there, and is so tough to do well at! We had a brand new Camry Hybrid that handled quite nicely, and thankfully weren't in an old car, because cresting some of those hills in a 100kmh zone for it to suddenly be like "surprise f**kers, this is a recommended 30kmh hard right turn" wouldn't be pretty. We weren't racing the Camry around, but we weren't slouching in the bends either. But my lord those old farmers know their old clapped out utes, and those roads, as they were absolutely hammering it!   You're also super lucky to make it up to Mt Wellingtong this time of year. It's often road closed with snow/ice! Also, I hope you hit up Salamander Road in Hobart for some insanely good food (I highly recommend the dimly lit Irish pub for a Guiness Pie, or even the bangers and mash!!!)   How long did the Ferry take to get across? I want to do a road trip of Tas on my own time, but I get horrifically sea sick, and I don't want me on the Ferry, just the car 😛
    • So far so good, about 30km on it so far and nothing out of sorts yet thankfully
    • Look at @Kinkstaah's thread on the issue.
