Great shots guys... I can really see the 'sameness' in the photos to my own experiences... which is good because I don't get Japan-sick as much.

I took a bunch of photos friday night which painted a nice story/timeline so I thought I would share as it is yet another side of Japan;

I went out to dinner on friday with a bunch of work mates (and one of their English coaches) as it was my last day in that office ( I had just moved there for 2 weeks work). They wanted me to try this style of Japanese food, I cant remember the name, someone here will know. Anyways it was more fun to prepare then to actually eat, but it was all a laugh and we all drank a fair bit. For some reason that escapes me now, after 3 hours worth of beer I thought a small, followed by a larger bottle of Sake was a good idea.

It get a little blurry in my memory from there on in but my camera tells me the night continued on to a karaoke bar (I never sing, but apparently last night I did), family-mart for supplies and then back to my apartment to drink more. Judging by the cans and bottles everywhere in the morning, I'd say it was a late one. This is all well and good but I wasnt thanking myself at 7am when I had to get up to be relocated back to Aichi.

Kyoto, one of my favourite Japanese cities.

Photos include Kyoto station, Kiyomizudera temple, Ohara (mountain town with Onsen guesthouse we stayed at), Kinkakuji Golden temple, Sanjusangendo temple and more

Good pics.

Why do the japanese always do the V-sign, when you point a camera at them?

Thats easy mate, they do it because it's the victory sign used by 'Cammy' from Street Fighter II was just so cool they had to do it... but I think it's more like their comic book heroes or whatever do it after disposing of an enemy, and as kids they copied it whenever the camera came out and it just stuck forever after.

On the other hand I had one student of mine say that they do it for something to do, as opposed to just sitting there like a dumbass...

?

The 'V' sign = the peace symbol. It's been in (over)use in japan for decades.

It was universally used (ie: worldwide) in the 60s. Japan just never stopped doing it.

I'd say the majority of young japanese think of it as the 'camera gesture' - and its original meaning has gone by the wayside

Just following on from my sarcastic post (wink - wink mate) I was gonna say that Japanese do the 'V' sign because they're trying to be a 'Kani' (crab)... but never mind :O

:P girls girls

anyways

As you may or may not know, Autumn is a big deal in Japan with the red leaves being very special to the locals. Last night i went to a park in Toyota which highlights these and it was really quite amazing.

No trip to the park is complete without stopping at a hawker stand for some octopus balls :D

Finally I got around to going to RockyAuto (rockyauto.co.jp), with much thanks to one of my colleagues for offering to drive. I was like a kid in a candy store, unfortunately the cars and parts were all in very close proximity to each other which made complete inspection and good photos impossible, but it was great none the less. Finally I have had a chance to crawl over and sit in a geniuine 432, and a very nice quality RB25DE 240Z with updated trim that I can only aspire to acheive. I also had a chance to have a look around the garage which was very interesting as well.

RB's and classic Datsun's, what could be better.

My arm really had to be twisted to attend a mountain park where the guys where doing a magazine photo shoot as well as some on-road DVD filming for an upcoming magazine. Great day all in all.

F***ing exellent pics.

Do they try to use original parts or mostly just the shells and put a sr or rb new suspension etc?

So what are you getting Z or gtr?

They use mostly orginal parts, which i was surprised, even still have drums and uni's on the rear.

I never thought I could say that my Z back in Australia will be engineered beyond most of these cars.

All these cars are for sale too, although they range from Y2,000,000~Y7,500,000.

are they genuine z432's???

ill need new pants if they are

drunkenmaster, i think i love you :) awesome pictures, keep the zed pics comin

    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
