Well i guess having an opinion isnt allowed anymore?

I didnt say your not allowed to like it and i said clearly in my post it was purely my opinion. Same as contempt said he likes the 350z, thats his personal choice. If he likes it. GREAT!.

Its what i like to call a diverse society, that is why we have people who love there commodore/falcon, riced up lancer. Because in there opinion its a good car.

Why do you think when you go to the pizza shop there is 25 different varietys of pizza and the option to customise one for your self? Because EVERYONE has different taste.

This thread is purely asking for an opinion. Like it love it or hate it.

Get overself, and go flex your ego elsewhere

What about specs????

A friend said he read in a mag, "The last spec sheet I saw from a Japanese magazine said that it had a 3.2 litre V6 with twin electric-spooling turbos making 480 hp, 7 speed getrag gearbox and the new e-4WD system."

Anyone know if that is true???

Whats with you Mr. Testosterone? No need to get agro.

I think it will take time to get used to. I think people are right when they say they dont want a "supercar" look. With what I bet will only be a VQ35DE motor.

I think now the Skyline has lost the RB motors for these new VQ jobs it will lose its once feared image. It was always the hero car from japan! The 2.something litre coupe with some turbos thrown on for more grunt... The kind of milk bottle motor that gets banned from racing with the V8's because its too fast.

This thing better be sporting a turbo or i'm not jumping on the band wagon.

VQ35DETT mate

The engine already has tuning potential out the arse. Then chuck a couple of snails on it... use your imagination.

Well i remeber reading about the gt500 350z's and they mentioned they were trialing a vq35dett in it which may end up in the gtr. Furthermore the gentlemens agreement of 206kw power cap has now been lifted opening up a whole new world of possiblilitys. Esp with the new WRX etc sporting 2.5lts etc. Its gunna need the balls to outclass

I've already seen what a TT does to the VQ35DE. 280 kw at the rears at 8psi. :(

APS released a TT kit for the Z about a year ago. I saw a video of a Z doing an 11.2 quarter on 91 octane fuel. This is a rear wheel drive car that struggles for traction off the line... imagine that power with awd for traction?

Here's Dino's blog if you haven't already seen it. Photos from the Tokyo Motor Show.

UK GT-R Forum with some photo-chops of the new PROTO in different colours and a set of Volks.

I reckon it's looking the goods personally. Different from previous but tough. I hope the motor lives up to the GT-R heritage.

    • After using a protractor for an actually accurate assessment of what is required,  and by NOT using my uncalibrated eyeball I worked out I need a 25° silicone bend from the TB ro the MAF, but, my choice was either a 30° or a 23° (23° is a weird spec), so I grabbed the 23° one from Raceworks I also grabbed 1mtr of 3" straight from Just Jap, I needed 350mm, but they only had 300mm, or 1mtr lengths....meh Also ordered a 1/2" hose bulkhead fitting from fleabay, this has a smoothish mushroom looking head (they are designed for below the water line of boats) that will fit inside the bend, the hose bit and threaded bit looks to long, but nothing that a hacksaw cannot fix if required, the hose will then just get jamed on the threaded bit up to the retaining nut Fingers crossed and the unsightly amount of hose clamps will be reduced down to 4 once all the parts arrive
    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
    • No. I think it might be the AFM. Hence the use of the terms "swaptronics", which implies the use of swapping out electronics for the purpose of diagnosis. It's about the only way to prove that a small/niggling/whatever problem with an AFM or a CAS or similar is actually caused by that AFM/CAS/whatever. A known good item swapped in that still gives the same problem is likely to be caused somewhere else. They're all the same. Spraying AFMs with cleaner is an each way bet between cleaning it and f**king it.
    • Oh wow! This might actually work amazingly. Do you know the ratio of the diff? I was told the only thing you need to make sure of is if the front & rear diff ratios are the same. Ours is a 4.083 Thanks!
