Hi i was wondering what type of tein coilovers the attached picture is, and how much i could get for them on resale. The picture below is the same model i have however are not actually mine (mine are in better condition). I beleive they are dampening adjustable and height as i have wound it out and noticed a softer ride.

Also what would be some spring/adjustable shock combinations (i.e. whiteline and bilstein adjust.)? which you could recommend for a fairly hard setup which would be good for a stiff setup (little body roll) yet still fairly decent over bumps in the road. (coming from teins, everything seems like its a much bigger bump than it is)

Cheers, David.

Hi David, check out the Bilstein/Whiteline Group Buy for your model of Skyline. Body roll is best controlled by the stabiliser bars, that's why the Group Buy kit has good ride, sporty, but not harsh and great handling.

:( Cheers :)

How can you tell the difference between HA's and the other ones which are dampening adjustable.?

HA's are damper adjustable. but the ones in your pic look like HR to me.

either way just ask the bloke who is selling them. or do a little research.

Hey here are two pics of the coilovers, i was wondering if any of u suspension experts could confirm what type they are.....

About dampening, few wks back i turned the tops of this supsension a little anti clockwise, if i remember correctly, and for two turns or there abouts i thought i could feel a slight difference (marginal but it felt like it was there). This was done using vice grips as there are no "knobs" on the top of the suspension.

Would be great if someone could confirm them....as i want to sell them off and get some normal stiff suspension.

Cheers, David.

i am 90% sure they are not HAs. to adjust the dampening you don't need vice grips. there is a little knurled knob on the top with a allen key type hole in the middle. you turn it with your fingers and it clicks as you turn it.

    • And this is the the thing with a high powered, AWD, heavy car. The engine is easy, the driveline costs just as much as the engine. 🤷‍♂️ Welcome to GTRland. Whatever you think your budget is, double it. Whatever you think your timeline is, triple it.
    • I thought I'd heard rumor of someone that was developing a 6 speed kit to convert the 5 speed box. But maybe I was thinking of the PPG 6 speed sequential? That's about half the price of a car...
    • I've searched fairly extensively among Japanese websites but found nothing really like those skirts in your photo. The closest I got was Origin Labo side skirts however they look more 'complete' in that they have a finishing piece or tab at the rear of the skirt so it blends into the bodywork, unlike the one in your pic. For that reason I'd say the skirts in your pic could be adapted from another car and they didn't include that tab piece, or those skirts aren't copied from an existing skirt but an original design. Sorry I can't help out in regard to ID'ing/sourcing them

    • There's a big difference between a car built with millions of dollars in R&D, and someone like yourself taking a normal sporty road car, and making it 5 times more powerful. At the same time, get a modern sports car, and you can turn them up towards the 1000hp mark a lot easier too. Also, give that Lambo another 20 odd runs, and chances are it too may break something.
