I have driven my s13 with a rb26dett conversion for a while now and the compression has started to go down due to high pressure from the garret gt35/40.

At this time writing, I am planning a rebuild so I can use the full potensial of the turbo and possibly make 680-700 flywheel hp.

It would have been great if you could help me with the engine spec.

My plans so far:

boring and honing of block

polished and balanced crank

hks forged pistons 1mm oversize

nismo n1 oilpump

nismo rod and main bearings

jun headstuds

hks 1,6mm headgasket

tomei rod bolts

tomei oil gallery orifice

I also plan to shotpeen my original rods and maybe get them polished afterwords.

Is there anyone who can tell me how this is done?

Anyone who does this for a reasoable amount of money?

Do I need anything else to make the bottom end reliable?

boring and honing of block DECK THE BLOCK AND THE HEAD ALSO (to help the metal head gasket seal)

polished and balanced crank IS YOUR RB CRANK R32 IF SO YOU WILL NEED TO FIX THE OIL PUMP DRIVE JUN CRANK COLLAR

hks forged pistons 1mm oversize or CP MAKE GREAT PISTONS USA

nismo n1 oilpump FOR THE BHP I WOULD CONCIDER A JUN OIL PUMP(especially if you plan to rev it hard)

nismo rod and main bearings NISMO THE BEST

jun headstuds

hks 1,6mm headgasket YOU ARE NOT CONCERN WITH RESPONCE BY RUNNING A THINK HG YES?

tomei rod bolts I WOULD BUY RODS ie PAUTER IN USA OR TOMEI/HKS ALL GOOD

tomei oil gallery orifice

YOU HAVE NOT MENTIONED THE HEAD SPECS what did you plan to run as bhp is basically pistons up?

thanks for the comments Pete!

Yes, i will deck head and block aswell.

It,s a r33 engine so dont need to do any changes with the oil pump drive?

I see that the jun pump is ALOT more expensive than nismo,

will try to keep i under 7800rpm so I hope the nismo is good enough.

for the headgasket, is 1,2 mm thick enough for my application?

Isnt the original shotpeened rods good for around 700bhp?

The head has been profesionally ported, gasfloved, and rebuildt.(also the combutioncamber)

any more help would be great!

Yeah 1.2m head gasket will be fine

The std rods will take alot but 700bhp would be the limit and after such an $$ rebuild it would be a shame to lose a leg out the side(i got my pauter forged rods for $1500AUD deliveried)

The N1 oil pump is not NISMO and is the same as std, bare a stronger pressure relief spring and if your not going over 8000rpm will be fine.

What cams are you running and have you bought adjustable cam wheels for them?

What will the primary purpose of the car be?

ditch the jun headstuds and rod bolts and fit some arp bits.

http://www.paceparts.com/index.asp?PageAct...S&Category=7740 sells the head studs at a very reasonable price but you will proly have to look around for the arp rod bolts (tomei use arp bolts).

Thanks for the good info guys!!

I will use arp bolts now.

The cams I am using is the tomei 260 type b with adj pulleys.

What are the recomended adjustments of the pulleys?

Or do I have to adjust them on a dyno?

The car will be used as a street car mainly.

And it will also be used at tracks and maybe some 1/4 miles :P

What are the recomended adjustments of the Tomei pulleys?

Do you adjust them on a dyno?

Or when the engine is out?

dyno is the best place as you can see the direct effect of any changes and every motor is a little different. But i have found a little advance on inlet gives better and earlier low down power and some motors responced to a little exhaust advance as well. Best to test all changes on the dyno and you need to remember to reset timing when adjusting the exhaust timing.

    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
