Try TT International dude. I use them at work and they are great!

I got a quote from TNT for a server shipping from Syd to Melb... It was $948 including $14000 insurance.

The same quote from TT International: $470 including $14000 insurance - AND a TNT courier actually delivered it!!!

Definitely TT International are the way to go... although some companies cost more for volumetric weight, which costs more because of the sheer size of a box. Others are weight only.

Hope this helps. Let me know if it's cheaper for you.

Yeah $250 is a little too much. Try $30 like above mentioned.

I shipped a catback exhaust from Melbourne to QLD for $19.00 plus GST.

Fastway couriers is who I use. They have a maximum weight of 25kg per parcel which a bar nor skirts will not exceed.

Toll/Ipec will be under $50 as well. Dont say it is a bumper bar. Say you have a boxed parcel that is 10kg and non hazadous, as thats all they care about. I have been in the transport industry for many years and I can tell you to NOT call "transport" or "general freight" people. You want a "courier"...if you want the cheapest price.

No way, i rang around heaps of places to get a front bar shipped, and the cheapest i could get from canberra to melb was $127 for a front bar... and thats only because he made a mistake and had to wear it. I got side skirts sent from sydney to canberra and most places wanted $120 as well, though r0ma found a place for $55 i think he ended up paying. To give you another idea, i just posted a front bar to perth using bus freight, and it ended up being $200 in total.. + packing (lots of bubble wrap + cardboard). I think $250 is fine for a front bar and side skirts, specially over that distance.

On, and on that FATGTS-R most places do have a maximum weight of 25kg, but if you read the fine print they also have a maximum length, width, and depth in the fine print. Most places are no more then .5 long, and .3 wide (which front bars exceed easy).

As mentioned I am in the industry and I have never heard of a .5 long maximum. That would mean a hockey stick, a golf club, a pool cue, a rug, a TV ( sent 10 today, 90cm) etc etc would not be allowed.

Yes, they do have a cubic conversion for light items that are large in size which is why I said $30. By weight alone a bar from VIC to QLD would be about $8.00. Some drivers dont give a crap and pick it up mislabelled anyways. As long as it fits in there van they dont really care, they are more pissed when its heavy.

Transport is a ruthless game. I sent a 3 seater sofa to WA and charged the customer $399. My boss got a customer wanting to send 15 cartons to WA and charged them $800 and they thought it was a bargain. Some jobs we make $15.00, some we make $1500, all depends how much people are willing to pay.

I just went on Fastway couriers website and entered pickup location as Canberra, delivery location as Melbourne with weight of parcel 25kg.

Price???? $12.00-$16.00.

yeah well the people i went through cared about the dimensions, hence why it was so expensive. Next time i need to post an item i'll definetly contact you though, you seem to know the way around it. The guy at the depo said basically that because the item was weird shape i'd have 2 pay for the cubic volume or sum shit? ended up being that i could of posted a package of 150kg and ended up with the same price.

    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
