im pretty sure my timing was off.

i posted a dyno graph showing the before and after curve.

so just to clarify, i got 147 on 3" turbo back, fmic, pod and 12psi

with retarded timing (i THINK it was sitting a few degrees under stock).

if my timing was spot on then im guessing i would've made around 160kw as my base. but you cant really tell.

also another thing i'd like to add is he said that sometimes the knock sensor on the safc screws with the timing, if the knock is high then somehow it will retard timing so he advised me to disconnect it.

My GTS-T (5 Speed) made 160rwkw on the dot with a front mount intercooler, pod filter and turbo back exhaust running 10psi, anymore boost that that and the factory ECU seemed to retard the timing

You mean to say you disconnected the knock sensors ?

:P my gts-t r33 s1.5, has got 3" front the dump pipe, boost controler set at 11psi (i set it to 10psi once and it did run alot nicer) pod, and thats about it, and its getting 194.9rwkw :(.. stock intercooler, stock ecu as far as i know.. wots with that? how come so high.

dont get me rong, i dont mind, just wondering if there could be other mods that arnt so ovious that may be helping it get so high.

p.s: on stock boost (7psi) it was at 170rwkw

As I understand it, the power figure I managed (which was taken on C & V's dyno) - was pretty much spot on for an RB25DET with the modifications I had at the time.

Varying dynos give varying results - I dont believe you almost reached 200rwkw from an exhaust system and 11psi, sorry.

Its weid people are posting results at ither 160-165rwkws

or 185-195rwks with the same mods

i must addmit us autos 4 in this thread all push 185rwkws and all in second

i was told my turbo was hiflowed cause i pushed alot of hp but i realy dout it now cause we all push the same

confused james

yeh i was i was a bit like, woh ok.. im just wonding if there has been other mods in the engine that i cant see (im not a car wiz so i only know from what ive picked up here)..

got it done at UAS in castlehill.. they do alot with skylines and 300's, so id wana think the dyno was pritty close for thouse type of cars

red line on low (7psi), blue on high (11psi)

Blitz is 100% correct. Not possible to get 50rwkw with a air fuel controller. If that figure was with a power FC i would believe it not with SAFC.

By the way i like your intercooler setup, looks great!

like I said, his base timing must have been way off.

Look at the original graph. Power curve looks like something a 3 year old would draw. I've only ever seen graphs like that with severely retarded base timing.

Does it matter what gear the dyno tune was done in... I'm asking as the tune for my car was done in 3rd (tiptronic), just wondering if doing it in 2nd would've made a difference.

I've been reading with interest too. I'm getting dyno tuned tomorrow with a Jaycar DFA (works the same as SAFC)

I'll definately ask the tuner to check my ignition timing. Excuse my ignorance but is this a quick easy to do (adjust timing) because I only booked in for an hour.

I got similar mods - 3" exhaust, pod, 10psi, stock intercooler - chugs fuel

5 Minute job

how can you guys argue with whats written on paper?

and i keep saying he didnt only tune my safc!

Your totally right.

Heres a dyno result from an R33 GTR in essentially stock form - I know it might seem a little high, but how could you argue with it? After all, the owner has it on paper

33dyno.jpg

so what you're saying is ive completely fabricated the dyno?

thats f**king stupid.

you're making accusations you cant back up.

Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
