Never used it but 3 comments..

1- I never buy anything off tv/web/phone if it's not available in a shop. My logic is there's a reason it isn't available in the shop. It's also based on my experience working for a company that sold things like this.

2- It's all gift packs that are priced very aggressively. It's not like you lose $30 if it doesn't work (i'd be ok just buying his "wonder product" but not a whole set).

3- Whoever wrote the site is a good salesperson with a good knowledge of "pulling" people through the ladder to the sale.

*shrug* not either way just my observations.

OKay something useful then,

I've been using Meguiar's NXT Generation for the past few weeks.

First time I used it I wasn't too impressed, paint had lots of little specs of polish left behind in pits and on bumps.

Decided that it was probably the contamination from shipping that was causing the pit marks so I got some Meguiar's paint cleaner, followed the directions and most of the car came out pretty good, paint felt smooth.

Bonnet was still rough so I gave it another go and it came out better but not perfect.

There was still noticeable swirls in the paint when you up up close.

Since then I've washed and fully polished it about 3 times, paint is now almost swirl free and looks alot cleaner, it seems to be getting better each time I wash it.

Before I started using Meguiar's I used some cheap shit stuff that came in a smallish grey bottle, even when I wasn't impressed with Meguiar's it was ALOT better than the cheaper stuff.

I've done some tests where I polish a section with Meguiar's NXT Gen, the Meguiar's with the big black car on the front and an area with no polish. The polishes definitely make the paint darker (it's black), clearer and look a shitload better. I can't really tell the difference between the two types of Meguiar's though. I find the NXT Gen stuff smells better and doesn't screw with your skin as much.

The NXT gen is ~$48 a bottle and the one with the big black car is about $39. I've completely polished my car about 4-5 times now with the NXT gen stuff and I'd estimate theres about 2/3 of a bottle left. Maybe more because of the weird bottle shape. I used heaps of the cheap shit stuff just to do it once, so spending the extra for Meguiar's is definitely cost effective over the long run in my opinion.

1) Take photo of dirty car with brick walls nearby.

2) Take photo of clean car outside with reflections of sky

3) ???

4) profit!

haha, agreed!

if you haven't heard of it, its probally for a reason.

i use to use the meguiars gold class wax on my car, (its very good) however it doesn't seem to last very long.

i have been using an armoral product lately and it seems to give protection for much longer.

stuffed if i know, asking about polish is like asking about oils.

my advise R34 would be get some and check what results you acheive. its obvious that most people here have not used it.

Thanks

I thought the advertising was a bit of hype too that's why I wanted to find out if someone had tried it

Yes I've tried NXT and it's very good.

Zaino Bros is good too but a bit of a pain to use.

Bowdens own is excellent but lately I've just used the nxt because it's so quick and easy once you have a good surface.

You might want to be careful. Polishing your car is slowly removing the clear coat. Polishing it too much will screw your paint forever.

mate there is no way it could look like that on a factory finish on a 20g paint job then yes

No, its not. Ever seen cars that have been detailed with Zaino Z8 (first pic) or P21S (second pic)? That's the factory paint on a 35th Anniversary 350Z. You could use that bodywork as a shaving mirror.

As long as you're willing to put enough time, effort and skill into it (and I'm talking a couple of days, in the case of that Zaino pic) its not impossible on factory paint.

Phwoarr.. I need to rejuvenate my paint.

Wash, polish, then wax.

Where do I get the Z8 for cheap? That looks gold.

Ok, Im after a good cutting polish for the Stagea when it arrives tommorow, some of the panels are a bit fadded...So should I be looking at say, the Meguires one with the big black car on it? Any advice would be appreciated

No idea in Sydney. I'll have to ask the guy whose car that is, since I think he did it himself. Turns out its not Z8....but that's OK.

The detailing job in the second photo was done by Damian of Final Inspection (in Melbourne), who apparently does sell Zaino.

More pics of the P21S job here.

Pics of the first time he Zaino'ed the car here.

Thanks Scathing - please keep us posted.

I've found Damian on detail paradise forums - I'm posting up as we speak :P

    • Dear folks My family members have 4 different cars : Triton 2015 and Corolla 2011 and Mazda3 2012 and Hyundai Elantra 2014 Looking to buy engine oil funnel spill free What I found are are below  https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BBTTJNKX?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image&th=1 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/145553221359?srsltid=AfmBOoqYBU6Ptw0LU_bAp_k67U3qkF97HHvePkA7iHZw8vUmiwoIRaRr https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09X23TCS5?th=1 Is there a funnel with attachment that fits most cars ? Don't mind to spend for a decent quality  Thx
    • Stock ECU (or more accurately stock tune) absolutely refuses to go over 10psi and behaves like you have seen. The Nistune is the same if it is the stock tune. If the Nistune chip has been tuned, the resulting tune could be literally anything for any combination of parts. The Nistune just makes the stock ECU Tunable.
    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
