  1. what do you blokes use to get rid of that grime on the strut towers? i've used all sorts of stuff but still find that I cant remove it completely. Sumo
  2. I love how one bloke says it will come down to the launch then everyone else jumps on the bandwagon. Oh, and it will come down to how good they can launch
  3. hehehe, I know a bloke that smashed with VT calais and since insurance was paying he got monaro headlights and a clubby kit all put on for nothing. Sumo
  4. did you get out and smash the p-plater?? or was it one of those female types?
  5. ahh ok
  6. lol is that all it was? you cant really lose power in second/third tho from the immobiliser sumo
  7. for the series 2 front bar I just used a pair of tin snips.... just cut out little bits and it fits and looks great. coppers have pulled me over heaps and never had a problem with it.
  8. put the ignition on "3" or Run, whack it in reverse and that should put the lights on... you dont need the car running to do this.
  9. Check to make sure its getting power back their and a proper earth. Then I would look for the wire that goes to the gearbox underneath the car, that may be broken or not making a proper connection.
  10. that would look cheap and tacky man. Sumo
  11. aerostart? lol no idea mate
  12. I would put my money on the 34, if I could have afforded one at the time I would of goten one, but I had to settle with a r33 gtst - none the less im still as happy as a pig in mud. Sumo
  13. lol, I seen a non turbo silvia (only other nissan import in the little town i live in) with a huge shopping list right down to the skirts that run along the bottom. But he missed a few like 'Supercheap' and 'Autobahn'. Sumo
  14. 11-12secs = lots of money..... just look at how much RNZ-11S has spent
  15. Hrmm, well im sure how we did it was undo the tailshaft, undo all the bolts in the bellhousing except 1, undo the plugs, then undo the crossmember and viola, the engine tilted back and when we undid the last bolt it practically fell out in our hands..... but they are one freaking heavy box..... I did the clutch once, hopefully thats the last time.
  16. when my 33 starts, it wait @ 800rpm till it builds up oil pressure then revs up too 1500rpm. She starts like a new one every time Sumo
  17. How'd you get it started in the end? If its lack of power I would be pointing at the altenator, not recharging your batt, easy way to test is when the car is running you should be getting around 14.2V to the battery. That will rule out the alt, check the battery with a battery tester (hydrometer) and see if thats the problem, if not then see your mech.
  18. sounds awesome man, did you take any pics?
  19. my noodle is 10% stronger. I think greddy are pulling theirs..... They prolly all come outta the same factory Sumo
  20. Most GTR owners can afford to pay someone to service their cars, not like us broke arsed GTST owners 33 GTST box takes about 3.8 litres
  21. GTR-34: in ur sig it says your 19 and have a R34 GTR Vspec? man im jealous
  22. And if your +ve wire or -ve has melted that would explain the slow cranking short of a stuffed starter... Sumo P.S. Sometimes its easier to just take it to a autoelec and they should if they are decent give you a heads up on what is going on, free of charge. I know at my work we do.
  23. Lol, that is dodgy man.... did you take measurements of the bearing so that you could get another one so when the current one fails you have you new one to go in?.... thats what I would do, as soon as it gets a bit noisy, change it asap.
  24. coils not producing spark? spark plugs stuffed? I would say if you have cranked this car till the jumper cables have melted you would have done some serious damage to the starter, as it is only ment to run for 5 secs or so. Also, Im with Chucky, make sure your engine is properly earthed to the chassis, because a bad earth connection can make wires heat up and melt, especially when your using lots of amps when cranking.
  25. mmmm, torque screws suck. Yet all the cars are changing over tho them, I think its more a case to keep joe blows from pulling stuff apart and getting to wiring looms and other goodies (the sills in the commodores all have torque screws these days).
