My old girl has driven my turbo car from time to time. I find turbo cars, really safe, in a turbo you only get power when you open it up heaps, a grumpy v8 on the other hand....
-
hopeless drivers buying a sports car, go figure...
-
I see, so they implemented it preety good then nissan... If a car has good tyres and good balance, i don't really see why traction control is neccesary, its all about throttle control. Obviously your old girl, just tramps it all the time, you have to tell her it isn't a hyundai
-
While we are on the subject, how good is the traction control on them, a worthy feature or bit of a gimmick? i.e. just for dodgy drivers or is it beneficial

Plastic covers usually hide, crap looking engines. i.e gen 3, v6 and others. The RB motors are works of art, and should never be hidden under shrouds.

Chasing an RB25DET engine loom. Series 1 or 2, doesn't matter to much. If you have one to offer, let me know. Cheers

Hey Guys, Can anyone confirm that this is a Series 2 RB25DET ECU for me? Im sure it is. Next question, because the series 2 ecu's. didn't come with onboard diagnostics, you have to use Nissan Consult or equivalent. Is it possible just to add the trim pot and led, to get the ecu to do diags as per series 1 ecu's? It looks as though these parts could just be soldered in? Or is the ecu missing other hardware to drive the diag function? Any ideas??

A couple of rigoli GTS-T here http://www.rigoliracing.com.au/r33skylinegts_y2k.htm http://www.rigoliracing.com.au/r33gts-t.html Funnily enough they are all twin cam 3.0L engines
-
Sub Zero and Rigoli have built some big power GTS-T's. Not sure off the top of my head what is most powerful, im sure someone would know?
-
Yeah, i will also run a medium strength loctite for sure, just for safety.
-
I've got a question, when you guys have relocated the tensioners, have you tapped the spike/bolt for the spring to push/spring on, to get the self tensioning effect, or have you just adjusted them by hand and tightened them, if you know what i mean....

Yeah, i couldnt make up my mind what looks better, but at this stage im going to run the upper cam cover. Just for belt longenjevity, the manual seems preety clear that the belt should not be contaminated in anyway. If its not there, dust, water, rocks etc etc, probally pose a potential risk. For a daily driver anyway, which mine will be. -
If you drop the motor, you will also need to drop the gearbox via crossmember spacers, a similar distance, and also possibly the centre bearing support on the tailshaft if you want to keep all the geometry right, wouldnt you?

I dont think the size of the caliper or the weight distribution is what effects the brake pad life. Its more the fact that the brake bias is set to around 70% front 30% rear, in the master cylinder valving. Not always that figure varies from car to car, but the fronts always do more work that the rears. Fronts should always lock before the rear, so you don't loose control.

Marios car would have most power at the wheels i would say in the GTR. Imagine the hp figure that thing could produce if you pushed it.

What are your favourite wheels?
RB30-POWER replied to NXTIME's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
volk te37 all the way. Anyone of the Jap rims are good though. Avoid all that shiny chrome looking stuff, only good for ricers. (factory wheels look better then this type of bling stuff) My 2c -
I can't wait to get mine completed, see what its like compared to the trusty old rb30et. You would think way better, with higher comp ratio and higher flowing head, but we'll have to wait and see. The rb30et has blown many a car away of higher pedigree, so this in theory would have to be insane, even with a modest size huffer.

Townsville - Skyline owner speeding fine thrown out of court?
RB30-POWER replied to NismoGirl's topic in Queensland
Im sure statistics would show that drunk drivers are usually repeat offenders too, or do repeat. It seems like every article i read on them, they have been caught before, for the same offense. They don't do it once, they usually do it more than once and still get a slap on the wrist. If they drink because they have problems, go and see someone, dont put others lives at risk. I would like to see, some type of first time warning system, rather then here is a $xxx fine and loss of demerits. It would be enought to scare most people, i would think. Knowing their one chance was up and next time they get done good and hard. -

That first R31 bay with 26dett looks so smooth. Hidden wiring and all. Simple but very effective bay, hence it probally being in a car show, lol -
Townsville - Skyline owner speeding fine thrown out of court?
RB30-POWER replied to NismoGirl's topic in Queensland
Its more like. "Law, I am above the Law" I would prefer to see them focus on the real problems, people changing lane without indicating, illegal uturns, people hogging right hand lane when not overtaking, faulty headlights, rusty cars, smoky cars. Not the guy that does 10km/h over the limit in safe conditions. This argument could go on forever though, so i wont start it up again. The way the law works, i think we would be better sometimes without it, not just relating to motoring side of things either. Let people sort out there own problems. You just have to take the good with the bad. I mean if you were getting robbed, you could shoot the person dead, but do that and you get in shit. ****ed up laws. Everyone for themselves, even if it is anarchy -

Townsville - Skyline owner speeding fine thrown out of court?
RB30-POWER replied to NismoGirl's topic in Queensland
Are all these coppers power trippin, or do they have pressure on them from higher up the command? As far as im concerned the only good copper is a dead copper. They are all arrogant pricks when it comes to the motoring public, they think they are the law. -
Highest boost on stock turbo?
RB30-POWER replied to DezertEagle's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
7psi would be fine all day everyday i would reckon... Nissan would have put a small margin in there for safety. When they develop and test the engines, they probally have tests that run an engine at WOT for many many hours for durability testing. If it was going to fail only a tiny bit above spec they wouldn't risk it, in regards to possible warranty claims. My understanding is that you could run more boost on the R33 turbo, because the 2L isn't using as much volume as air as the 2.5 would. A 2Litre with rb25 turbo on 14psi, might be supplying the same air as and rb25 would use but only on 10psi. If that makes sense.... Im sure SK would have a better answer though -

Thats a great response SK. Im sure alot of people appreciate you taking the time to explain things in detail such as you do. Atleast if this thread topic comes up again, we can just link here, instead of the whole thing again.
