  1. They will go into any RB engine, RB20/25/26/30 (Same thread, length etc etc) They have a heat rating of 8, which means they would be best in a car running more power than standard. i.e exhaust, intake, more boost etc etc
  2. I beleive they are R32 GTST M spec calipers or 300zx calipers. I've only ever seen R33 having the smooth type.
  3. *SOLD* Hey Guys, I have a set of Blitz Iridium plugs for sale. They are made by NGK for Blitz and they suit any RB engine. They were removed from an rb25det motor i just purchased for a conversion. They are like brand new, you can tell they must have only been put into the motor just before it was imported here as a halfcut. Gap is still perfectly 0.8mm and no wear and tear. I would use them but i already have a new set here for my motor and because they last 65-100k dont think i will need them anytime soon. Im asking $70 inc postage anywhere in Aust. I have some pictures and also a link to the blitz page where they retail at $25 US per plug. If you wanted iridium but can never justify the cost, grab these at bargain price. http://www.blitz-na.com/Blitz_Plug_77.htm Cheers Mick
  4. I agree with what has been said above. You dont want to run these so called cleaners around the engine, it can dislodge alot of stuff, possibly causing leaks from seals, blocked oil galleries etc etc. Just asking for trouble. I remember a few of my TAFE teachers years ago, saying that Diesel Oil is good for this purpose, as its very high in detergent and cleans it after a day of running. But once again you run the chance of problems i guess.
  5. I would recommend a 10w40 in all conditions. The factory recommendation might be fine in Japan, but incase people didnt notice we are in Aust, the climate is a hell of alot warmer here then in Japan generally anytime of the year. But thats only my 2cents.
  6. I've got a manifold here and it looks as though its cast into the manifold, not just pressed on/in? It a fairly common part to corode on car cooling systems and im dumbfounded as to why they would make it not replaceable? Even if you use coolant, they do go dodgy after the years, water seems to get between the rubber hose and the metal somehow.
  7. I sure as hell cant see any pictures either, how about someone puts up a direct hyperlink or attach the photo's, so we don't have to go through 3 or 4 pages and still not find them. Sorry but it only seems relevant to put a picture of what your talking about in the thread.
  8. The block and all internals are the same between the skyline and vl RB30E The skyline does however have a few different parts, such as different size heater connections, different harmonic balancer etc etc. But its all little stuff that wont effect a conversion such as discussed in this thread.
  9. What Mashrock said is correct.
  10. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=15420 There is over 80 pages of valuable information there.
  11. Has anyone got a screenshot of the tuning software to throw up?
  12. Talk to these guys about the box http://www.keas.com.au/ They are starting to supply plenty of modified jatcos for big power cars now.
  13. Maybe spray some electrical contact cleaner on the coil connections if they needed it. You cant really clean an O2 sensor, they start to wear out after about 100,000k anyway, they dont sample as fast as they will do when new. You can use a butane or gas torch to burn carbon off the tip, but this would only happen if your car was running majorly rich and clogged the sensor. Injectors arent worth tampering with in my opinion. You are best to use a quality premium fuel such as optimax or ultimate that have high amount of detergent in them. This will help keep them clean. Injector cleaners in the bottles are preety well usless, and as i say no real need to remove them and get them ultrasonically cleaned and flow tested unless there is a problem. /edit spelling error
  14. I've seen 4 door R33 at stagering low prices compared to the coupe. I've seen these mint cond for 12-14K, dont ask me what the go is though, they all seemed legit and advertised locally to. They dont interest me enough to investigate, thats just what i have seen these advertised for in the Sydney NSW area.
  15. Yeah i would be keen to see some pics as well. Also i beleive the VCT is continuosly variable unlike the R33 RB25. How is that acheived, different head or just ECU function?
  16. Did someone say bannana Nah seriously, how can any skyline not look good What you will find is, if you go to 19" the tyre profile gets smaller as the wheel size increases, so overall your total wheel/tyre diamater wont change much. Probally +15mm at most. Pending on tyres. If you lower it, the arches and kit will sit more around the wheel too, if you get what i mean, so you will get a tad more clearance. Just make sure you get the correct wheel offset to suit the GTT, or else the wheels will scrub all the time. If you fit bigger wheels, or even if you dont, a mild lowering job will improve the overall stance of your car ten fold. Cheers
  17. I personally always prefer genuine Nissan paper style filters in original airbox. I've inspected so many cars with various brands of pod filters that have minute dust particles along the inlet tracking from crappy filtration from pods. Which is going to effect long term engine wear considerably. This alone is enough to make me avoid pod filters. Not to mention the risk you run if you get oil from the pod onto the hotwire in the AFM. The pressure drop across the standard filter is minimal, compared to the AFM mesh and rubber inlet track. Then you have exposed pods that arent in a sealed enclosure, thats a whole other issue. But hell its up to the individual at the end of the day, what they prefer
  18. If you can't afford a better turbo in the first place, then you probally can't afford to risk blowing it either. If thats the case leave it as it is. If you are looking for a budget upgrade get an RB25DET turbo, it will be able to run more boost on the 2litre RB20DET, and will give good gains. i.e better midrange and holding to the redline. The standard turbo even on 12psi has piss poor midrange and tapers all but away at around 5500rpm. Its basically a bolt on and i would recommend it to anyone, to help wake the RB20DET up a little.
  19. I've got a few of those parts. Came off my RB25DET, so have to assume its all OE off R33? Thermostat housing, 2 mounts. Although one mount is missing the rubber mount part. Don't know if you need the entire mounts or just the steel part. If you give the parts a quick clean they will come up as new. Pics attached. Could have the lot for $20? Im in Newcastle too, so let us know if they are of any help to you if you cant get them in melbourne. Cheers Mick
  20. The factory car handbook (in glovebox) should say exactly what has to be done and when. Maybe someone could scan it and throw it up? I looked in the service manual, but it doesn't say what periods, what should be inspected.
  21. Im chasing a complete Series 2 R33 Engine loom. All the loom from the air flow meter, to the injectors, to the ecu, into the instruments etc. What im saying is i dont want any critical plugs cut off the loom. If no one can offer a series 2 loom (has different afm plug and coil plugs) offer me a series 1 loom and i may be able to modify that to suit. If you can help me out, please post or pm me. Also im chasing a RB25 VCT upper timing belt cover, that goes over the cam gears etc. Must be mint with no dints and shit in it. Will be getting painted so a few scratches doesn't worry me. Cheers Mick
  22. Just thought i would ask. Is it just me or is the forum running like a dog? Sorry but i have to voice my concern, so slow........ Can you put a bigger turbo on it Seems like all page loads are in a queue and you have to wait 5 mins for it to load.
  23. Its a shame the books are missing, if you had them the re-sale would be much higher should you ever sell it. You should try to pursue it, but i would say if that mich time has passed they won't be seen again. I bet their has been some people that have lost alot more than logbooks too off their cars on transport over. So many places that bits can go missing, Japan after auction, boat over here, docks, customs, transport here in aus, very hard to track it down....
