  4. hey all, spent the weekend finishing her off. rear diff and fuel tank went back in. and then got her started!! after sitting there for over a year!! all was good, up untill one of my retard friends snapped the bolt that bleed the air for the coolant. basicly we tried to drill it out and comletly screw the tube so i had to take out. Im mega pissed, worked my ass off everyday for 3 weeks solid to get at this stage and one bolt has set me back a couple of days.... hoping to get it welded shut and a new hole tapped. steve

SK do you have pics of the setup? my bovs and cooler pipiing is in the way. i dont want to put it on th e passenger side cause the hosing will be too long. anyone got pics?? thanks steve
  8. hi guys, ive done the search and read the posts regarding fiting aftermarket oil coolers, but i havnt much lucking find pics of an oil cooler in a 32gtr. from what i read the best place to fit it is in the wheel well, but my bov and cooler pipiing is there and it wont fit properly!! i mamaged to squeeze it behind the intercooler but i had to remove the AC canister. (will relocate it later) is this the best place to fit it?? is it would it be beter if the cool sit flush on the ac condensor or should there be a gap?? im on a dead line so i ogtta get the oil cooler sorted today! ps. its a 19 row universal oil cooler from justjap. http://justjap.com/parts_ncooling.htm thanks steve
  9. the cooler piping off my r32 gtr fitting fine on my mate r33 n1 engine?? unless you are talking about the intercooler it self being differant?

  14. na, unpluging the transitor pack thing on the cover is guarenteed not to start ever. but enough of that. so cranking it with new thick oil is definetly enough to prime the bearings though out the whole engine?? steve
  15. one of my rails is comletly crushed, so i bought a new one from nissan for about $200 and willbe getting it replaced. the rest of the rails are also bent in through the center but nothing major. when i get them fixed the guy wont cover them in anything so the guys at the pits can see he's done a good job. then ill get them coated. im real worried they wont let the car pass though
  16. so the gtt rotor is better than the r32 gtr rotor???????? damn!!
  17. hi, i was wondering if anyone had pics of the stock r33 n1 oil cooler and piping?? thanks steve
  18. Well, after importing her over a year ago, and pulled her to bits 9 months ago i finally had the time to do some work! took weeks off work and worked on it from 7:30 am to 6pm every day! basicly the engine bay was fully stripped and repsrayed in 2pac gloss black. The subframe was cleaned and sprayed, wheel wells and underbody, along with almost everything else in the bay (wiper motor, abs unit, brake/clutch boosters, all brackets etc). the intake manold, engine covers and turbo pipes were all powder coated. engine bay is close to completion, waiting for the oil cooler to be sorted. all thats left is the rear diff, fuel tank etc to be returned. The whole underside of the car has been degreased and cleaned (hoping the pit guys will appreicate this) if the cash flow is good, with luck ill be cruising mid feb!!! steve
  19. hey guys, I havent started the engine for about 8 months. and was wondering how i can go about to make make sure the system is full of oil before tyring to start it. Ill be adding an oil cooler, and was thinking: 1. fill the oil filter with oil, and then screw it on 2. then pump oil into the oil cooler lines, fill the cooler core with oil and bolt the lines up to the cooler. 3. unplug the ignition (so the engine doesnt start) and crank the engine a few times to get the oil flowing to the bearings and head etc. would that be enough to prime it properly? i dont wanna kill the bearings etc incase they dont get oil for a few seconds. I was also going to flush the system using cheap thick oil and changing the oil filter, would it be a bad idea to use thick oil when starting her for the first time in ages? thanks steve p.s would turning the engine over show a reading on the oil gauge once the pressure is up???
  20. hey, im exactly where u are and was wondering the same freaking the other day. ill be getting 1 of the subframe sections replaced, and wondered if they could easily fix the sills too. do the guys at the pits get all shitty if the sills are crushed?
  21. hey guys, anyone know for sure if the front disks off a r34gtt fit onto a r32 gtr?? yes or no will do. thanks steve
