  1. Spotted black R32 GT-R on Narellan Rd x Camden Valley way at about 1:50pm today.
  2. I'm not sure if it's still a requirement, but Tow Hooks used to have to be Orange, Yellow or Red, or in the instance that your car is Orange, Yellow or Red, they had be painted in contrast to the body colour. That may have changed with the introduction of the TOW stickers, but you'd have to confirm that. AFAIK, You can't paint them body colour. So, if discreet is the aim, I'd suggest the cloth strap, which you can tuck away when not in use. (Or, remove the metal tow hook when not using, and reinstall every time).
  3. Great info, thanks guys. Sounds like I might be in the market for some Enkeis soon! Best option seems to be put some good quality road tyres on the GTR wheels for street driving, and grab a set of Enkeis with track tyres on them. I'll upgrade the pads and fluid on the std brakes for now and see how it goes. But I dare say a bigger brake setup will be on the cards. I'll have a look at the Cusco stopper too. Sounds like a nifty little add-on. Keep your setups coming guys, still keen to see what everyone runs / recommends Cheers.
  4. G'day, I am trying to find the best set-up for my R32 GT-R to do some light track work (Club track days etc). The car is used rarely on the street, but still does get driven once a week/fortnight or so. I have been surfing around the various threads on brakes, tyres, and wheel sizes, and have gained some good information with regards to what fits, and what works, but I am curious to see what people have found works well for them as a combination of them all. I currently have standard brakes, standard GT-R wheels and road tyres. Ultimately, I would love to put some track tyres, the likes of Federal RSR or similar on the car. I love the look of the standard GT-R rims, so would love to put the RSR's on them. However, I don't want to do that, only to find that I really should upgrade to bigger brakes/rotors, which ultimately means bigger wheels, new tyres etc etc. I have a good grip on the suspension side of things, with some nice coilovers and all new bits and pieces there, so I'm going to focus on the tyres and brakes for the moment. So, what do you run on your R32 GT-R for recreational work. Brake Setup - Rotors/Pads/Calipers? Wheel Brand / Size? Tyre Brand / Size? Thanks in advance.
  5. Here's the workaround for anyone else who cops it http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2014/01/14/gran-turismo-6-patch-1-03-available-problems-already-popping-up-workaround-available/
  6. Not sure what the problem is, but today I flick the PS3 on, chuck the game in, and go to start it. Says I need to update to 1.03, so I click OK. Then the PS3 crashes. Resets, has to check for corrupt files, and restarts again. Happens every time.... EDIT: Found a way around it. Stupid system.
  7. I'm keen for the superlap comp! ... Just as soon as I get better at it! Lol! Haven't had much time on the game in the last few weeks. Got 3 days off now while the wifey is working, so I may get a crack at it!
  8. Lol. Not to mention when you miss a braking marker and T-bone a Ferrari Dino at full noise, you wouldn't just idle back onto the track and get stuck back into racing.... You'd run and hide in another state under a different name.
  9. I'm still loving the game. Getting jack of all the mandatory updates though every time I switch the damn thing on!! I have reasonably good internet speeds, but over an hour to d/l a 1.2gb update is just ridiculous!! I turn the game on because I want to play it NOW, not in an hour... Gah... 1st world problems, I know, I know...
  10. Hi, thanks for the info. I've had the VIN run through FAST, and checked my build codes against options and whatnot, which is all good. I might have a look at the JLM option and see what they can find for me. Thanks! Cheers. I'm not worried about the kms or anything, it's got a fresh motor and box, and I bought the car to drive it, not keep it with low kms and not enjoy it. I mainly want to chase the history to see what the car has done during its life. Where it spent most of its time overseas etc. Just curious Thanks for your help / suggestions
  11. Yellow R34 (?) on Bridge Street at Picton @ 1am this morning. Travelling with a white BMW sedan. Both P-plates.
  12. G'day, I had a look through the forums to see if this has been covered and couldn't really find anything. Unless I've been searching for the wrong phrases and words, not sure... How do you find out the history of your car? Can you find out details relating to it's import/arrival/first sales dates etc? Is REVS the only option? I'm curious to see what sort of life my GT-R has lived prior to me. I have a vague knowledge of the owner who had it before I did, but he only had it 12 months or so, and as a result, it's life beyond that is a mystery to me.
  13. I'm also interested in this. Had a quick look at Brown Davis and they show a full cage which is built into the car over the top of the rear seat, but certainly wouldn't allow for any passengers to sit there. Perhaps I'm not looking in the right spot? PaulosECR33 - Can you shed any more light on them?
  14. I see another Gun metal R32 in Picton at one of the mechanic workshops a fair bit - I assume an employee. Gold rims, Chopped front bar. Looks very tidy. Anyone on here?
  15. I haven't had it on the dyno yet, but the previous owner claimed it made 260awkw before being detuned to it's current 240awkw. So from that, I'd be assuming it would be around the 240 mark somewhere. Maybe a bit less.
  16. Mid 8's... Man that's quick. I don't even think that I would know how to hang onto a car like that. I just like the idea of getting into the 12's on the drag strip, and then working on good circuit times at the various tracks around NSW.
  17. Yeah mate, that was me... Shocking few runs to start with, but all a learning curve for me. Got down to a 13.335 @172km/h by the end of the night, so I think with a better 60' time, some better rubber, and a bit more practice, a 12 is on the cards. That 35 was nuts!! The sound alone was giving me blood-flow...
  18. I took my GTR for a run at WSID tonight. There was quite a few skylines about, some nice looking ones, and some super quick ones. It was good to see. I got 9 runs in, which I was pretty happy with.
  19. ^^ Exactly. For a comparison, jump into arcade mode, grab the M3 GT and drive a proper race track with it. It is amazing how good the car can be, and how good the sim can be. One slip though, and you're in a world of hurt - as you would be in real life. I have found the early stages of the game (licences etc) tedious and easy as suggested, but hopefully unlocking it to the point of playing proper cars like in arcade mode will redeem it. The Pagani Houyraoursouroursouaroureou is just stupid though, as an aside.
  20. I had an AI car stopped on the racing line at the exit of the cutting on Mt Panorama for 6 out of 10 laps... I went back and watched the replay, and it crashed all on its own, and got stuck there. Wasn't until another AI car rear ended it coming out of the turn that it was able to get going again........ The AI engine appears to be drunk.
  21. Not sure about the year, but there is definitely an R32 GTR in the earlier games.
  22. Mt Panorama is as good as I was hoping. Not spectacular, but better than any other version before it (Shift / Grid etc) ... The shadows and signage across the top of the mountain is glitchy for me though, did anyone else notice that?
  23. Thanks dudes - The screen is a great size for big blockbuster movies and party gaming (Wii / WiiU / Kinnect etc), but yeah, it's a bit of overkill for racing sim. I play Gran Turismo, iRacing and Rfactor on it, and the only thing I would change would be the height of the Sim rig in comparison to the screen. If I could get the whole rig 12 inches higher or so, it would be fine. But you find yourself looking up at it a bit in it's current state. Still, it's awesome fun just the way it is, so I'm in no hurry. Also, I'm slightly embarrassed to say there is a photo getting around of me sitting in it playing GT5 with my helmet on...
  24. 120" Projector + GT6 + G27 in Sim Frame = My Friday night sorted!! Sorry wifey, you're on your own!
