After having my motor rebuilt last August and doing less than 1000kms on it, when all of a sudden i had no oil pressure finally me and my mechanic removed the motor from my car removed the sump and it just started picking up on the bearing so probably the best news i could have heard, so replacing the bearings and putting in an N1 oil pump and Jun Crank collar which i purchased late last year. I have done the Oil restrictor mod aswell, but havent done the sump baffle or Head to sump return mod. Im in 2 minds about doing them i have read up alot on it i was looking at the tomei sump baffle but was told the Jun Sump baffle is better, I sent off my crank and collar to get machined today and i want the car back on the road asap i have never been on the track before and the car is prodomently a street car, but wouldnt mind starting to get into it abit more. If you were in my position would you baffle it or just fill it up and extra 1.5L or so on the occasional track day i go on? My Mods are: r32 GTR CP forged pistons (40 though) prepped standard Rods ARP Stud bolts n1 oil pump Jun Crank Collar Tomei Restrictor Mod Bosch 044 fuel pump Sard Fuel Reg r33 GTR N1 Turbos Os Giken Cam Gears Oil Catch Can 3.5inch Turbo back Exhaust Standard Cooler Remap ecu a bit or head work Standard Cams. greddy profec B boost Controller torque split controller When i put it back together my friend is going to live tune it for me just untill i organise the power fc and injectors. Is there anything else i should do while the motor is out? Cheers
  2. im pissed off i missed it the other night hopefully my GTR will be back in time, might bring the GTST down too get my friend to drive it! Been meaning to get a membership for 5 years now so might as well get it when im down there. It would be nice meeting everyone.
  3. make sure you do i was in the same situation than you with my freshly rebuilt motor, everyone kept telling me its the gauge or sender and i didnt bother checking it out, and then my oil pressure light came on and now my engine is out again, so i would suggest putting a mechanical gauge to it asap, and if it is running low oild pressure it might be time to replace it before it does some serious damage. Well worth it for piece of mind. cheers

  6. I cant say much as i have signed a confidentiality agreement but i know a fair bit of stuff in the pipeline, And have driven most of the VE range and doing work on the Pontiac GTO at the moment. But I like taking them for a thrash but nothing makes me happier than leaving the carpark in either my 32 GTR or 33 gtst, I loved jap cars along time before i started here and after all the bull shit i go through working here, You wonder why i drive Nissans and love them!

With all the new safety devices such as esp etc the car wont let you spin the wheels and go sideways and drive the car like its meant to be driven so its still very controllable but just takes out the fun of having so much power, And look how much they weigh getting very close to the 2 ton mark. my 2 cents
  8. Yeah its bullshit that they hassle us, I dont understand it. They keep adding more power shitter fuel economy and more weight so it just evens itself out. Still runs a 13 second pass so they still cant get things right. I work for them and know how much shortcuts they take thats why the VE is such shit build quality half the parts are made from korea, Anyway not going to rant about them as im not biased but still with that much power you would expect the thing to move and not pay $40 of petrol to get down the street.

  11. I was thinking about it can it be the pressure relief valve thats stuck because then i wouldnt have any oil pressure just a thought. Has this happened to anyone else? cheers
  12. I didnt realise oil pumps can fail that easy its not a common on other cars, Does this happen often on the 26?
  13. What oil pump do you guys recommend my mechanic said the N1 pump and i am leaning towards that way at the moment also looking at JUN and TOMEI but there double the price, Can anyone shed some light on which one i should go for? cheers
  14. Yeah why its out i will probably replace the bearings and make sure everythings that looks worn is replaced and it wont go back in unless its 100% fine. But im still hoping it was only the pump thats stuffed or maybe a squirter came loose just going to have to pull it out and find out. I'm not happy the reason i bought a rebuilt motor is so i didnt have to do this and for it to be reliable oh well shit happens.

Like i thought we checked it with a 2 mechanical Gauges and absolutely no pressure what so ever so definate pump failure, but going to have to drop the motor and check everything to make sure it hasnt done any damage to any of the internals. I had a bad feeling as soon as that light came on i just hope i dont have to fully rebuild it again and i can get away with minimal. Going to purchase a N1 pump and the Tomei oil restrictor mod is already done and might as well put a sump baffle in to ensure this never ever happens to me again! How labour is it going to cost to get the motor in motor out on my car? Deciding whether to take it to a friends workshop to get it done but its a while away from where i live but if its cheap enough might take it to a work shop closer to me. Im trying to figure it out i just want it back on the road and its a crap time of the year to get anything done with christmas and new years.
  16. yeah i hope so but it may not have been quick enough as soon as it happened i was around the corner from the misses house which was like 50 metres so i limped it there as i have had my gtst stripped twice when i left it out the front so wasnt going to do that with the GTR but i hope it didnt do damage that quick. I checked the oil cap to see if there was oil in the head and there was a bit it is going to get picked up soon so i will find out shortly. What an idiot i bought the car rebuilt so i expected him to change the oil pump if he rebuilt the motor i know i would have but i hope he hasnt taken a short cut and left the old peice of shit standard one in.

It didnt go through any oil there is still 4.5L of Oil in there so its not low on oil and its not overfull and the oil looks alright, Its going to get towed to my mechanic at lunch time and we will check the oil pressure I just hope it didnt spin a bearing or something i will be so pissed considering it would have done no more than 2000kms. What would be the best case scenario? Is there any chance it couldnt have detsroyed my motor?

Was Driving yesterday and giving it a bit of a hard time then about 5 minutes later i was cruising and the oil pressure went to Zero and the Oil pressure light came on so i switched the car of straight away and just sat there for 5 minutes thinking why me! Fark and hell i hope i havent done any damage so left the car at my girlfriends house and now been stressing all day about it. Im getting the car towed tomorrow to my mechanic to check the pressure and hopefully its alright its basically a new motor new turbos i had it dynoed last week to make sure everything is running safe abd not to lean and my mechanic said i had nothing to worry about the engine seems very healthy. Lucky it wasnt on hi boost was only running 10psi. So pissed off i have had my gtst for 7 years not 1 problem had the gtr on the road for 3 days and was really enjoying it and now this! Words cant express how pissed off i am I was hoping to wake up this morning and i was having a bad dream but thats not the case. Does anyone have any good news for me like maybe its nothing to major and im stressing about nothing? Cheers any help appreciated.
  21. a guy on the forum is selling a GCG hiflow for an Rb25 for $1000 with minimal shaft play, Might be worth looking at I have one on my gtst and have been pretty happy with it, but if you want to go abit bigger buy a Hiflow with the VG30 exhaust housing on it. Should be looking at around 270rwkw or so. Otherwise be done with it and buy a 3076r been in a friends and it went really well and wasnt to laggy either, I was pretty impressed with it!
  22. Hi robo i met you once to pick up the gtr blow off valve a while ago, I have still got the 33 gtst and recently purchased a rebuilt r32 GTR and it is fantastic i am loving the handling and the power so i would say upgrading to a r33 GTR you would love it.

Yeah ther only reason i went r33 GTR N1's is because i got them real cheap with no shaft play and no chips on the blades or anything i wanted the garrett 2860-5's but couldn't really afford it at the time and i just wanted the car back on the road. I'm getting it dynoed later today my blitz sbc arrived so if i have time before this afternoon i will fit it before i put it on the dyno. Just need to get a power fc im looking for one at the moment to finish it off untill i get bored of these turbos and upgrade but im glad to hear you liked the setup when you had it and 300rwkw is what i'm really aiming at for now. I know the motor is built for alot more but i guess it will be pretty reliable for a while, I'm just hoping the remap isn't to bad and i get a decent number without the fc but we will see what happens.
