  1. I used to have an L24ET in an HR30 coupe...Didn't have it dyno'd,so can't give you any numbers,but it pulled a 15.1 on the G-tech,an 6psi with shift kitted auto.Not bad I thought...
  2. 120kph + sounds a bit high! At what revs?? That'd have to have a 3.9 ratio wouldn't it?
  3. nice numbers for stock boost. What gear was that done in though? Looks too fast for 2nd,and too slow for 3rd?
  4. Mmmmmm.I recall you saying that you only kept chopped cars that looked real.....Well done!
  5. I found HICAS to feel like the arse end was rolling on high profile tyres at first.Discovered that if you don't turn the steering wheel as much into corners (which is hard to get used to) then the car feels beautifuly planted on the road.I have the 1st HICAS though, which doesn't use a rear rack,so this may differ in feel to R32>
  6. Yeah, what's with everyone dropping RB20's into '30s. :slap: I'm chucking my RB20 in the bin!! :spew:
  7. OOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhh yeah........pics,pics and more pics!!!!!! I've seen a couple of twin turbo SR's before.Twin turbo FJ would be nice! Turbo's would have to be pretty small though.
  8. Are you aware that the correct A/F ratio's for nitro are not the same as petrol? ie,if you inject your "shot" at the very least you would have to have extra injectors come in at the same time. Also,I think that injecting raw nitro would be a bad idea,as even the big alchol boys mix it in a base of methanol, and all this stuff corrodes stell fuel lines/tanks,etc,and turns to a thick jelly-like sludge if left for any length of time And isn't nitros oxide N2O3?.......
  9. Can't speak for others, but I guess some people would do the drive, and others would consider it too far....Port only has 40,000 odd people,so probably not the best location, bussness wise... I wouldnt mind having a drit track in my home town though! nothing else here........ Duncan, that Ringwood site,is that just north of Newcastle? I know they've been trying to get a 1/4 mile built there for a couple of years, but some locals are blocking it! :( Newcastle wouldn't be a bad spot, but they couldn't sustain the speedway there,so......dunno As far as usage goes,it'd depend on how much it was to enter,of course, and also how far I had to travel to get to it,as I dont have much money,so fuel would be a consideration...For eg,if it was in Sydney,I'd be up for $100 in fuel, just to go down and back. I'd like to think if wasnt too far,and a reasonable price,Id try to have at least one "drift day" a month.
  10. I'd like a '30 series unit,as they sound like an actual bell dinging, and the HR31's are more of a generated "beep" The one in my old HR30 was a beauty... Ding..click.....Ding..click....Ding....aahhhhhh,lovely!
  11. So are HR30/DR30 Skyline coupes Pillarless, and rear quater windows power down
  12. Maybe Port Macquarie would be good .....It's sort of half way between Sydney and Brisbane,so would cater to a large section of the coast..... Mwahahahaha just don't tell them you live in Port.... Did I just think that or did I type it  :D
  13. ADAM,I'm not sure if it runs off actual speed,or just an ecu output,as you say.At a guess,I'd say it runs off the speed sensor wire, the units in HR31's do.... What I am sure of,is if you want to compleatly remove the whole 'ding' module, and stick it in a postpack I'd be more than happy to shout you a couple of beers or send it $10 COD.... I WANT ONE!!!!!!
  14. Use the hand-brake cut feature, and it should be ok.Depends how strick they want to be....
  15. Awesome idea.Although I think a lot of research should be put into the design of the track(s) as that would make or break it.Some thing similar to the Japanese multi-track complexes would be the go I reckon. I'd definatly have a go if we had access to a good track!!!
  16. Hmmm, very interesting.I can understand wht you say here, but I would've thought that even with zero flow through a core, the bigger the front face exposed direcly to the air stream, the more cooling.Of course, with a 'small hole' at the front, the air would diffuse in and around the core, but I'd have imagined that it wouldn't be the same as high speed air flow hitting it directly?? Also, for interest's sake, how much benifit would a "big mouth'd" front bar that shows the whole intercooler be then? I'm guessing not as good as previously thought perhaps?? After reading your comments,I can see more advantage at lower speeds from direct flow, before pressure equalises.Direct flow at lower speeds should aid cooling in as much as reducing heat soak, whereas a "hidden" intercooler would be more pron to radiate heat, and that heat not be dispersed as effectivily, due to the low air speeds, and no great air diffusion occuring. :headspin: Thoughts?
  17. Hmmm,I understand what you say about the dispersion of pressure, but surely direct airflow would impact on the cooling efficiency of said coolers? As in direct contact with cool air? I'm aware the (negative) pressurisation and ram-air style effects would feed the ambient air to coolers, regardless of frontal opening area, but I'm talking about increased eficiency by way of direct cool airflow contact? Or am I off target here?
  18. Interesting, but also for consideration for those wanting a performance vehicle would be air flow to intercooler, radiator, oil cooler,etc....Surley the early style front would be better in that regard? BTW,the mighty HR31 would have to have a pretty good drag c/e ,having flush fitting side glass, etc? Wouldn't have any figures on them would you?
  19. Oh,and btw,I used to have an HR30 coupe with L24ET...hence the user name...
  20. Talk about a delayed responce! haha.Yes,I do drive the black HR31GTS-X!! FYI,the Passage is the imported pillarless 4 door.GTS-X's are coupes. I live at Lighthouse beach!! and Im betting the petrol station in town was Shell? YOU BASTARD!!!! why didn't you come and say G'day! :wavey: I didn't notice anyone looking at my car It would be neat,if it wasn't for that faded roof! I now have 16x8 front and 16x9 BBS mesh wheels on it,if I didn't at that point  So if anyone's in Port, and you stop this car, come and say hello!! It's the only HR31 on the road in town at the moment!!! So no excuses !! :D:D
  21. Cool.Hey drop me a line when you're comming through!
  22. Geez, this thraed goes quick if you're away for a few days Phat MR30,aren't the Silvia's short nose R200 anyway?? Ghostrider, you mentioned about an AutoSpeed article in regards to spoilers/areo.I'd be interested in a copy if you want. Oh,and also, from a couple of pages back, "Hope all works out, you might keep up with our RB's then" Mate, you'll definatly have to stop in port mac when you get that HR goin! haha
  23. Oh bummer. It looks the goods! Might as well buy it anyway! Cheers for the info.
  24. Naaa, raleigh's a bit further north, near Coffs harbour.Sounds like there should be some nice Silvia's up here anyway.
  25. D'oh! I never get spotted!!! Black HR31 coupe with BBS alloys..... There's a few other Skylines/imports round here, but not out much. And no one seems to get together and chat round here... and I have to say....dude....roxys sux ass!
