  1. You could have a point there! Especially like a white one-they don't stick out much. Adam-I know for sure the '31s engine is softer! hehe
  2. Agreed they are much 'softer' in character than the DR30's,but I don't know about "just a family car" (Predator) Maybe the Passage, but the coupe is hardly family! Does the HR31 -in standard form- hav ethe grunt to be classed as a "GT" ??
  3. Agreed they are much 'softer' in character than the DR30's,but I don't know about "just a family car" (Predator) Maybe the Passage, but the coupe is hardly family!
  4. Following on from the "what would you classify a DR30 as?" thread, and it's ensueing debate,I thought this one would be interesting.... The HR31 is the next generation of the Skyline, yet quite different in character to the DR30..... So what do we reckon?
  5. Very true. The DR30 Skyline will always be a sports car to me.
  6. Come on! MX5's might have great chassis balance, etc but sports car? They're the original hair dreser's car, aren't they.Give me an S13 over one of them anyday! (even an SR20 one!)
  7. I'll go with performance car based on family car chassis. The M/H/D R30 Sedan would be the most common platform I guess,so the FJ20 powered cars are the same chassis, but with sports orrentation. Does that even make sense? ehh, bugger this,I've already voted anyway!
  8. I added my effort in the gallery to.Trying something a bit different this time.....
  9. Hmmm, interesting point about the WRX being classed as a sports car.If that's the case,a DR30 would have to be in the same bracket
  10. Hmmm,so would a DR30 with,say...R32 4 pot calipers and rotors on S13 coil-overs wearing fat rims with sticky rubber be a sports car,or still a muscle car?
  11. I think rim diameter and track increase rules fall under the road traffic regulations too. Engine swaps (not that you'd swap the FJ) would also fall under the same thing.....well in NSW anyway.....
  12. Better start a new thread and show us some pics then!

  14. Well I was just going to watch  Don't think my mate's a CAMS affiliated club member Out of interest, would a CAMS Basic (white) licence be enough,or is that only for motorkahana's,etc? I suspect you need the next one up,for closed road competition(?)
  15. Would I be able to get some start times, info, etc for this event by any chance? and I assume it's on the 19th of this month? I've been wanting to go and watch one of these for ages, and have a mate in Taree who *may* be interested in competing.
  16. Yeah,I guess you're right, but it's nice to have a bit of "old skool" power under the bonnet too!
  17. :werd: Afterall, this is 'Classic Skyline's" and classic Skylines usually have 'classic Skyline' engines
  18. Haha, the "up yours RTA" value alone would make it worth doing! And is it some people don't like old engines,or is it old Skylines?
  19. I have to say, this place sounds a bit dodgey.....How many weeks to get it on the rollers, and then there's NO FAN,and it's run in 5th gear!??!!?!?? 5th will change your torque reading, and also the shape of your HP graph.
  20. *raises hand Just waiting for when they start allowing personallised ones
  21. Dear oh dear, this thread got off to an angry start! Ghostrider,in anohter thread didn't you say you had just completed the built of an RB25/30? If you've finished this engine,I'd say stick to your original plan and use it.Much more cost effective! I think it'd have to be more "street friendly" than an angry L too. Although a 3L L's big stroke could bring a T51R on boost nice and early! Your car....it's up to you!
