  1. hey guys I been re-tuning my car in the lasst couple of weeks.. long story why it needed a re-tune but i started to do it with the Hand Controller as i dont own the PFC adapter myself. Anyway i found this issue appeared on my car!! I ended up finding out (after a long time muckin around) that my TPS was set incorrectly. It took me 3 goes to get it right. How i did it was losened off the 2 phillips head screws and then moved the tps untill i heard it click. then held it there and tested the throttle - the idea is to have the throttle move as little as possible before the tps clicks. The way i got it was made it click and then moved it very slightly as well before doing the screws back up and that fixed the problem for me. Although my engine was leaning off bad when it was missing like that. Hope this helps
  2. possible the BOV is causing you issues. Block it off completly. raise your idle 100rpm and try that
  3. i remember meeting you guys at the mercury back in 2004 or sometime around then. Dont remember much. was drunk
  4. this car goes back a long way that i can remember. Good to see its still going well.
  5. Very nice!!!! Who said the power fc is a crappy computer ? are you running AFM's ? or map sensor version? Hope you crack the 9's without the cheating gas.. Will be very impressive when you do.
  6. how do you know there is a problem here? if the engine is running correctly ? I would be filling it back up again and checking it again. Maybe there is another reason why it lost water and there is still oil from the previous head gasket blow up.
  7. does anyone know if this review has made it onto youtoob yet ? =)
  8. hey mate the turbotech brings up boot much quicker then every other bleed valve setup i have seen. I used to have 2 turbotech's... one set to 25psi and the other set to 14psi. I would just pop the bonnet take the low boost setting valve off and replace it with the high one. Can be done very quickly even when setting at a set of lights i was able to change it with plenty of time to spare PS: was not racing
  9. i was driving around all day long on 25psi 363rwkw for a few months and was doing around 1000 - 1500km's a week with the turbotech. The only reason why i got a EBC (a old one that was given to me) was because the bolt and spring and ball bearing fell out on the road somehwere on the central coast when i was cruising around and i needed something to replace it. Turbotech all the way. once you learn how to set them up they are great and deserve credit for what they are. I have found they work better on big external wastegated turbo setups then they do with smaller turbo's
  10. i know that between the rb bottom ends the same oil pump / rear main seals can be used. Most of the bolts are all the same - its very similar setup.
  11. Guys your AFM's are tooo close to the turbo. Thats the problem. I had this exact issue and the only way to fix is is to move the AFM away from the turbo. Make some custom piping out of PVC pipe like i said before and put the AFM somehwere else with double the amount of pipe length if possible and test it. I am sure this is whats going on. I have been through this and this was the best and easist fix. My air filter grabs air from the air duct right in front of the front bar (be sure the air filter does not have the air flow hitting it because this will stuff with your air flow signals as well) i put a aluminium plate in the air duct and the air goes around it to the inner gaurd where the air filter and AFM meter is. The good thing about this setup is that the police cannot see you have a POD and they dont defect you because its enclosed.
  12. I need to do something like this as well. I need to run a bypass valve and re-tune my car. I want to run 30psi and I cant because my AFM is making out at around 24psi. I am going to either modify my AFM and remove it from the plastic pipe its in and then put it into a 4" pipe OR i will run a bypass....
  13. who cars about the boosted one i wanna know how the NA one goes too!!! bet it sounds good.. how much power did it make? do tell
  14. everything is fine mate. The standard comptuers run too rich standard and when tuned in most cases there is fuel taken out across the whole board.
  15. my mates rb20 revs past 8000 rpm too! he is scared to over rev it! he thinks there was no limiter so 8200 sounds possible
  16. They are up to their third tuner now i believe. Its a definate setup problem. it was around 750 - 800rwkw Back on topic now - just answered the questions.. no more about this 2j.
  17. That diff ratio seems short and it will make the car feel faster because it will be accelerating quickly. Take your CAT out and check it. maybe its blocked? do you have any air leaks in the piping when on boost? maybe it only leaks on boost ? have you put it on the dyno and checked the air fuel ratio ? i would be doing this after checking the turbo and cat
  18. yeah maybe the compression is too high or the plenum does not flow correctly
  19. i heard the reason why it cost soo much money was because they made her change the management system. the engine only need pistons and a head to fix from the last blow up. I wonder if we will see this car out on the dyno again.
  20. i understand where your comming from and i agree totally. Its just a show car and nothing more. Just a shame that it keeps blowing up..... would cost soooo much money Keep up the good work the car looked great!
  21. get some plumbing pvc piping and move the afm further down inside the gaurd - also make sure there is no direct air flow getting to the AFM - so just tape some cardboard infront of it. if you have to leave your Air filter off just for the test then do so - the aim is to get the AFM as far away from the turbo housing as possible. my AFM sits right in the front gaurd and i have a plate that stops direct air flow (mucks with AFM voltages / readings) try that and let me know what happens... will only cost $5 and if it fixes it then you know what path you have to take. oh also try a different AFM. it could have a issue cheers
  22. we want one that does not lean out cyl's mate. Id rather get one that works then a cheapie.
  23. at the end of the day its been proven that the stock item can do 400rwkw + The only advantage it has is looks and location for piping (gains are to be had for the different piping setup) Depends how much money you have i guess.. i got mine because i was advised to get it and was fully aware that i did not NEED to get one. I went for the plazmaman and i would only suggest these plenums as they are the best IMHO
  24. I went to the autosalon but i could not wait around all day for the best car at show to run so i missed out on the run. Looks great and congrats on the win!!! Good to see a RB win a event woulda been different if Miss 2j ran... Anyone know what is up there? =)
