What would my compression ratio be for stock rb30e bottom end and pistons with 25 head only shaved to give a good seal ??

It does cost more then 3k. people are spending more money then that on bottom ends. I got mine done really cheap 3 years ago nearly and it cost me about 4.5k (mates rates) and i used standard cast pistons.

RB30e and rb30et have ONE knock sensor. but they have the provisions for anotherone to be put on.

The japs are making much more power then you with the Power FC. Its all up to the tuner.

The best ECU that you could get for power and economy is a Apexi Power FC. The ecu is located on the passenger side kick panel. a couple of 10mil bolts and it comes out easy. Why do you have to change maps when you are driving ? I dont understand this. Why do this when you can have one map cater for all situations ? When your on boost then you will have the load points tuned to run the mixture you need and when your on cruze you will be on a completly different load point that will run a nice mixture for economy. THE ONLY reason you need to change your maps is if you run a high high octane fuel on your car for the track and use different timing / fuel values for the different fuel you are running like C16 / AVGAS etc etc. Get the power FC do it properly the first time and enjoy the driveability of an AFM.

there is a difference between vaccume leak and boost leak =) try tighten the spring on the BOV a bit more to make sure that it is not leaking.

check that your dash light switch is turned on. if you had the dash out then there is usually a switch thats plugged in somewhere. you can short it out full time or plug the switch back in properly and turn it on ! =)

its quicker and cheaper and easier to put in another rb25 and sell your old blown engine. unless you want a huge amount of power.

What you do is get your normal plugs (or the existing ones) and get some feeler gauges and gap them down to .6 or .7 (or .8 but i have used .6) and that may fix the problem. you would be running more boost with the free flowing exhaust and your boost would be putting out the spark. Common problem.

Mine has a oil controll problem at the moment... we built this RB30DET over 2.5 years ago and we did not know to block one of the oil feeds and put a restrictor so if i had more oil in the engine i would have an oil fountain lol getting this done in the next month or so

I did not even know about the coil holders not needing to be in tight lol Got any other usefull information for us ? =)
