R33 GTST RB25det head with VVT oil line Standard Bottom end rebuilt with new rings and bearings only Nismo 740cc Injectors Sard Pressure Reg Walbro 550 pump Plazmaman Plenum 300x600x100 Intercooler Extractors GT3540 .82 rear Turbo Tial 38mm Gate plumed back Power FC & HC 3" exhaust Made 346.6 RWHP on a conservative tune (low timing) on 16psi. Will post pics and dyno sheet. Got it tuned on Saturday and the dif blew on sunday lol. Bit worried about the bottom end so I did not go above the boost level sydney kid recomended. ----EDIT---- Bottom end shat itself. 5 pistons has broken or missing rings during that power run / tune also 6 months later it spun 2 bearings... so rebuild.. Forged Pistons Forged Hbeam rods Balanced Bottom End Crank collar modification Owner street tuned at 16psi made 397.6 RWHP in 38deg heat- engine is only running 120psi in each cyl so we can run a extra 10psi or so boost later on. ---EDIT--- Retune to 20psi made 317rwkw Passed the Emissions Test - IM240 -Edit 2- Installed 044 Pump - retuned to 363rwkw.. spiked 27psi and holds 24psi to redline

Why do people think more boost = more power. Why is it if you tell someone your running 20psi they go WOW MAN THATS HEAPS OF POWER. Its just sad that most people have no idea what they are on about. The more boost the worse it is. If your chasing more power then chances are you need to change something else not turn the boost up. (within reason of the turbo's effiecency range)

I was in town on sunday saw a nice Stagea *drooool* was in there from about 5:30ish Just finished my GT3540 upgrade and should be tuning it for more boost on saturday... I should be in town again on sunday should meet up and say hi

Looks like you have just taught yourself a lesson about the benifits of a rb30det. My 3 litre can overtake cars at 45km'h in 4th or 5th gear off boost.

Very interesting topic for me too. i have a bit of a story to tell. My car just had its GT3540 installed and running (high mount) and it just went somehwere for a exhaust repair and when the guy left it there and shut it off my mate turned around and looked at the car and there was smoke bellowing out of the engine bay.. being a champion that he is he ran to car popped the bonnet while my other mate got the fire ext and put the fire out. Apparently the whole heat shield under the bonnet caught on fire and it all dripped over the engine and melted bits of my coils and all over the cam covers and my smicko manifolds and turbo But it was caught in time and all that was lost was the heat shield under the bonnet so the car does not catch fire anymore. It also cleaned up really nicely so appart from the small black patch on the top of the bonnet you cannot tell. I would like to cover the turbo with something to prevent my paint from bubbling as a few mates i know with high mount turbos on 1600's bubbled there paint (a month worth of driving has not bothered mine yet) So yeah such a close call ! So now you know that stuff under the bonnet catches fire VERY easily.

How much did that cost you mate ??

here you guys are giving the guy stick when he is really just asking for help when most of you drive 300rwkw cars + on the street. Im sure you never break the speed limit. You can try and fight this in court mate. I knew a guy who had a problem with his speedo not working properly and he got the mechanic that did work on his car to write a letter to the court and document the issue and a copy of the invoice etc and he got off scott free. So heres a story that goes in your favour.. good luck with it

Mate this is FKN horrible. I would go to the police and explain to them what happened and how the car was taken. Get the police to investigate and sue the crap outta those f**kers. Please keep us updated I hope you get the gtr back. I think i am going to start removing my ECU when parking my car.. i dread this happening to me infact i have nightmares that my car gets stolen and stripped for parts.. talk about paranoid but yeah I feel for you mate

My flat mate is holidaying at surfers atm and his R32 air con broke down and he took it to a place and the guy has no idea what he is going on about. So can someone please tell me of a place not too far from surfers that know air cons well in Skylines who can diagnose and fix the issue asap ? car has been off the road for the upgrades i just got.. been working lots so I might be seen around town a bit more often now since the car is back on the road.. still looking at tuning it.

All i can say is that torque wins races. Horse power sells cars. It all has to do with the tuner. Good race tune = good racing. aggressive power curve = wheelspin. Its like comparing apples and oranges. You cant. There is no arguement when you can tune in the amount of power and torque to the level you want its just that the 3 litre wont be running so hard to get the level of driving that you want.

Got a couple of pics since gettin it all going! Sounds great and after some MAJOR issues with crappy made ex manifolds its all up and running. Should get it tuned properly in the next couple of weeks.
