  1. Change the oil again and check it every day to see how much oil it is using. Black smoke means its running rich - not oily so you may not need to rebuild the engine. It may just need to be looked at by someone who knows what they are doing.
  2. Just got some more bits for my turbo upgrade and was wondering what power will this baby make ? details are RB30DET with cast pistons and vvt Nismo 740cc injectors Power FC Sard FPR HKS Exaust AVO Stage 2 intercooler XTR GT3540 .82 ???HP BB turbocharger with Tial 38mm ex gate Cheapie SS top mount exaust manifold Stock inlet manifold Walbro 550hp intank pump Can you run a bleed valve on a Tial wastegate??? anyway what kinda power is this good for ? the old turbo setup made 230 rwkw on 10psi with standard injectors maxed out Pictures - SAU Gallery
  3. did you order sard injectors from nengun or Nismo ? because i just ordered 12 Nismo 740cc injectors from him which are supposed to be sent now.
  4. I allways found that vortex 98 pinged my skyline very hard but as soon as i put Ulimate in it the pinging went away and the car went harder. I also found that Synergy 8000 SOMETIMES would make my car go noticably harder. weid that Vortex came out on front - i have tried it many times and got the same result every time. I wonder how much free fuel or how much money Caltex paid MRT ? =)
  5. I made 240rwkw with std injectors - with a RB30DET
  6. What a load of crap! I have never heard of this before and EVERY tune shop i have ever been too puts the probe in the exaust pipe at the rear of the car. If you put the probe in the dump pipe in the standard oxy sensor position it can get very very hot and then you start to get weird readings.... You can get a fitting that you weld into your exhaust from just about any exhaust shop. sure the reading may be a little more accurate in high HP applications but anything within 250rkw i wouldnt worry about it...
  7. The manifold does look very very similar. I was sure they are the same design because they look the same. I know mine is a cheapie from ebay which is why it needed soo much fixing and im sure the one from Just Jap does not need any cleaning or modding to fit properly. That was my experience with them.
  8. I Purchased one of these off ebay. The one i got looks exactly the same as this unit - same design etc.. Issues that i have had so far - 1: The flange that the turbo bolts onto had to be chopped off and welded back on in a different angle as the exaust housing was hitting the head when i tried to bolt on the GT3540 turbo 2: there was excess dags and welding waste in the pipes - 2 big pieces of metel fell of as soon as we hit it with a dy grinder which would have destroyed my turbo straight away. 3: one of the middle studs had to be cut to half length because it hits the middle runner 4: if you look close you can see that number 6 would run really close to the firewall and it does - you can barely fit a 2.5" dump between the firewall and the pipes and you would have to bend it over closer to the side of the car which in my case R33 it will be close to the ABS pipes and we dont think we can fit a 3" pipe through there because there is air conditioner gear there also. 5: All the surfaces had to be machined. 6: The studs that bolt the turbo were not staight and we had to bash them into place because the turbo wouldnt even bolt on properly. We spent 10 hours on the manifold - starting to wish i spent the extra $600 and got something that did not need soo much time and effort. Not 100% sure these are the SAME manifold but it is definatly the same design as the one I have. Here is a url to check out some pics. CLICKY ME NOW FOR PICS
  9. Was just wondering as now im going to be making much more power then before - why do I have to change the AFM to a Z32 when my mate made 314 rwkw out of a standard rb25det airflow meter with PFC. How has he done this when others say its not possible ? if he can do it why dont everyone else ? C&V Tuned his car for him and it is making that power because he ran a 11.2 on street legal slicks.
  10. i want one if its that cheap
  11. Id be keen but my car is still off the road atm gettin the gt3540 on
  12. when you put a second hand piston into the bore that it was not used in before they dont last very long. your best option would be putting a second hand bottom end on and then rebuilding that if you really need too..
  13. Your better off buying one of those turbos in your avitar get a GT35r and a external gate + manifold -best way to go. with a .82 rear housing
  14. I put a high flow turbo on my r33 and even at 10psi it would cut out lol
  15. You probly should go for a rb25 or rb30 for this conversion as the merc would be heavy??? i allways wanted a high powered FJ20 in a BMW but mercs have crossed my mind too...

Take the inlet manifold off to insert Nismo 740cc injectors and to weld a fitting onto the water feed.

  21. why do you need a Z32 AFM ? C&V tuned my mates R33 rb25det with a PFC and he made 314rwkw with a RB25 AFM.
  22. I had mine running at 16.5:1 on cruise and used to get 10 litres per hundred km on the freeway and had 230rwkw with a 3 litre bottom end.
