  1. Off to Micolour for paint for the bonnet, front bar, guards, side skirts and pods Bit of test fitting
  2. Aerocatch added to the bonnet. A little nerve racking but it all came up well after lots of measuring, careful dremel work and lots of test fitting until they dropped in.
  3. Braking system going back in, ABS unit in, all pedals and throttle cable. PowerFC and new EFI loom installed, power steering lines installed.
  4. Engine and gearbox ready to be taken off the subframe and dropped off at Race Pace. Was originally going to suck it and see if the engine was ok, but thought better and ended up getting it all pulled apart. Was the right choice because there was an 8 thou bend in the middle of the crank, a spark plug tip had come off and damaged the bore a little, and the turbo bearing cages were not in the best shape. New R34 crank, machining, 87mm pistons up from 86.5mm, new bearings and consumables, reco of the turbos and a good check over everything else.
  5. Me too. Not quite KY0 but as close as I think you get in the standard 34 colours. These tend to go well with the silver.... z-tune front bar, and mu secret s-tune copy bonnet New bumper reo, EFI loom and a couple of other bits I didn't end up needing because the z-tune bar is one piece where the factory is two. I do have a factory bar that came with the roller in case the targa regs force me to go back to standard gear so will come in handy then.
  6. Needs to be a 2.6 for this one for the rally regulations. I believe if I put a 2.8 in it I would need to enter it as a z-tune, due to the year it was made it would bump me up into modern so up against R35's, Lambo's etc. Maybe in a few years the z-tune will get bumped back to early modern and would go 2.8 then.
  7. Loom through to engine bay, fuse / relay block, Race pace integrated oil/air separator and washer bottle in, brake booster and master cylinder in, VBox magnetic GPS unit installed on roof
  8. Dash loom mostly complete
  9. Switch panel in controls for demisters, power feeds for camera system & gps/trip meter unit and a few other odds and ends
  10. Loom that runs behind the dash - took a little while to sort this one out
  11. G-sensor installed, beginning loom installations
  12. Battery kill switch cabling bolted down using rivnuts and stainless hardware
  13. Wiring all sorted out and started installation
  14. PWR radiator was all good so in it went
  15. Definitely - the cage in the last one also built by Andrew didn't move at all. No hesitations getting this one built to the same specs for sure.
  16. Car was then sent off for interior and engine bay paint - came up very nicely.
  17. Next up all the holes were drilled to mount the internal battery kill switch, floor plates, and holes for the harness mount points.
  18. Full FIA homologated chromoly roll cage welded in
