  1. Stripping interior complete and off on the tow truck to Andrew @ Trackart
  2. Seeing as my R32 will probably never be finished, and I have somehow managed to sneak a pretty epic R34 build through in the mean time I thought I would do another build thread with the satisfaction of it ending. With an aim to be forward looking a little history, this build came about after a fateful crash near the end of Targa High Country in 2011. Lots of gear was salvageable, so an R34 GTR roller was sourced from Brissy, and was promptly bought and picked up in an ~6 day epic round trip from Melbourne over Christmas with the missus. Strip and tar removal beings Get those space savers away from my car
  3. Time for this old chestnut http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oG5FKsH3-F4
  4. Ouch Evan! Stocky 26's just aren't braced for the G's.
  5. From personal experience very contagious too
  6. You too Ben! Yeah tis a good feeling returning with a straight car that is for sure...
  7. Yeah mate that sounds great. Likewise mate pleasure to finally meet you and a few others in person. One terrible hangover on Monday that was for sure! Seems our engine is ok and maybe I was just being a bit paranoid about a new car / engine. I drove it most of the way back on Monday and it was all good. I think just a bit of oil had made its way to the intake via breather causing the blue smoke - need to investigate, few other oddities but the basics are holding together! Also picked up one mother of a chunk of rubber/tar near the top was getting god awful vibrations that made me think something else was wrong.
  8. Mate yeah that would be awesome - you're right I think it's a bit too soft. Rebuilt the MCA's and just need to replicate those settings from the white car it just worked so well. Corner speed is way down and at higher speeds there is a lot of body roll. We were 1:15 slower up buller this time round and I can only manage a 25 at sandown where I was in the 21s before! Vbox confirms the lower corner speeds. Feels like if I put any more boot in the tyres will start letting go and won't be able to catch it. Guessing you are at sau nats next weekend so maybe catch up after that when you're free. Is the 35 good to go or you need a car for nats?
  9. Not good enough. We were here to have a beer with the pair of ya and huh. If your willing to commit to the rally your willing to commit to the beers. Anyway - congrats and well done!
  10. Liam and Larry where are yez?
  11. We are out unfortunately with engine trouble. Played it pretty safe all day but the car has been feeling down on go. Something popped near the top of the hill - hopefully not too serious. Also need to do a bit of work getting the suspension set up - not quite confidence inspiring in the faster stuff yet. One day Thc, one day.... Good luck to everyone tomorrow!
  12. We are heading up tomorrow evening as we are booked in for scruitineering Thursday morning. Will be sure to say g'day - determined to make it to the Targa Bar this time around Putting the finishing touches on the car today and its all come together really well. Can't wait to get back out there!
  13. For my 34 vbox setup I copied the last car and drilled a hole in the channel above the windscreen then sika'd it up. Windscreen was out though obviously. GPS is magnetic placed on the roof a short distance back.
  14. Wait ... wut!!! Awesome - was thinking it looks too nice to be a drift pig.
  15. Loving this Dan - very nice. You are doing everything I want to do. Exactly the direction I would like to head with my 32 in the next year or so. NEVER go full retard!
  16. ... will also need a different pump maybe and injectors - nismo pump with sard 700s atm
  17. Yep definitely noted on that one! Yeah plan is to go for a link g4 at some point with the sensor so I can run what I've got. Not sure if it will make the first cut but definitely the plan.
  18. Haha yeah looking forward to it .... I have a 500kg trolley that should help the cause a bit. Need to get the flywheel machined first then the shenanigans begin.
  19. Sunk a good chunk of time in yesterday. Finished off the power steering lines and pump in place. Time to drop the engine in. Triple check the rigging while stand still attached to make sure it holds up while hovering the engine over the car. Engine in!
  20. Looking great Evan. Great to see it coming together quickly, you will be out enjoying it in no time. Good plan on going to that extent for the seat mounts. Andrew does a mean floor plate in checker plate alloy - have some in my 34 - nice and light too. Need to get him on to a few things for me as well. VHT do a roll bar & chassis paint in a rattle can that is a little chip resistant. I've used it on various things and it comes up well, cures pretty hard in about a week. Mate used it on his cage and looks same as this.
