  1. lol Nice fake Type R stickers...
  2. The short answer is no they probably wouldn't pass compliance Based on results from dealer auctions, you'd be looking closer to 2.3 million for one.
  3. No wasn't me, although the new owner is a South Aussie. I did a fair bit of digging on it, turns out it's a personal import, but the inspection sheet didn't read real well on it, needed a fair bit of work. I was hoping to nab it for sub $30K, at $42K or whatever it ended up at, it wasn't such a good deal IMHO. I must admit, I already had some gunmetal grey 18"/19" Work rims picked out for it too hehehe. But back to spotting things, a P plater in a white 260RS yesterday, giving it a bootful near TTP.
  4. For those following my progress - it sat on $22K till the last couple of hours. Obviously I wasn't the only one watching lol http://www.graysonline.com/Lot.aspx?id=3658217
  5. I looked a little while back, you'd be looking in the low $40Ks and upwards, I'd suspect, for the 450GT.
  6. You should've bought it, you slack tart! That was a very cheap car, ended up going to a dealer in Melbourne. Hehehe, I have a series 8 RX-7 in my driveway for a few weeks and she drove it to work today, she's not a fan at all. Busted her fingernail in the doorhandle
  7. I was gonna say "No you don't" but then I realised who you must've been talking to hehe. Clean the mud off your car you slack shit! Don't know, to be honest. I hope it did come here. Not what my wife wants though I might have some more explaining to do... Yeah he's from the Riverland, must've been down here for some reason. I call it the Stormtrooper.
  8. Where do these businesses keep coming from??? Jeez... Golden rule - if it sounds too good to be true...
  9. I'm not from NSW but that is a bloody disgrace. How the residents on that road haven't kicked up a stink already is totally beyond me.
  10. Yeah I know, still kicking myself over missing that one. Too many cars, not enough cash, same old story Having said that, I'm bidding on something in Oz at the moment - I'll spill the beans on Wednesday if I end up getting it. Totally impractical...
  11. Don't tempt me...
  12. Forgot to mention, the turning circle is ridiculously large in them too. You could do tighter turns in a bus. Very few criticisms apart from that one.
  13. If you've rolled it, it's a write off. Don't waste your time.
  14. N1s only came in white - the rest don't count
  15. Actually I found that too - there was a huge difference between the settings. Mine was originally set on Vocal I think, and it sounded like crap.
  16. Well the import yard should get their facts right Two workshops in NSW, 3 in Qld, 3 in Vic and 1 in WA.
  17. You should also mention that your car has presumably also been tuned to run E85, and can no longer run normal fuel... Ethanol-based fuel is fine to use if your car is set-up to run it, and the pumps/tanks/fittings at the service station you get it from are designed to store ethanol fuel. Ethanol, however, is also hygroscopic - it attracts and absorbs water - and the resulting corrosion caused inside the motor (and any corrosion picked up from the service station's storage tanks) can mean a complete strip down and rebuild if the average Joe Blow just puts in the tank of his Commodore time after time without really considering the facts. My sister was in this exact situation - she and her husband have a VY Commodore which needed a rebuild at 65,000km and when the Holden technicians opened up the motor and saw the damage, that was the first question they asked.
  18. Except much much slower hehehe Normal Cube, although the workshop that's closest can do both the Cube and Cube Cubic, only 1400cc engine at this stage though, up to 2006. I found an awesome 2007 model today, black, Xenons, sunroof, 17s - devastated I couldn't bid!
  19. For someone who works in the justice system, you seem to have a hard time telling the difference between a seller and a broker. If advertising someone else's cars is illegal, then carsales.com.au is gonna be in plenty of trouble. I've already been investigated by Consumer Affairs regarding my business (I'd love to know who the sook was who gave the "anonymous tip-off"), and have a letter in my filing cabinet from them that I'm clear enough on my website that people visiting aren't going to get me mixed up with a dealer, and that I'm free to continue trading.
  20. Anyone can import a car - it's knowing the car will 1) actually make it here and 2) be in a good enough condition to comply that is the reason why brokers are worth their money, which is always going to be cheaper than the margins from a dealer. If you want to buy from a dealer, then good luck to you - I often send people to dealers, people who aren't able to trust someone to buy a car for them overseas, and would rather see the car in the metal. Dealers use their own money to bring in stock, and have to provide all sorts of warranties to their customers, that's why they charge more than a broker will (and have every right to do so - they're not running a charity). Two different target markets, as far as I'm concerned. Either way, don't slag brokers and expect it to go unanswered
  21. Hehehe I'm shopping for one too, but it has to have the black flared guard add-ons and the retro stripe kit...
  22. As easy to comply as any other car...
  23. I'm driving one as my daily. Lots of fun, very quick through the hills, use virtually no fuel whatsoever, weird gearknob position is brilliant to use, need to change gears a lot to keep them on the boil, like living with a kid with ADHD. Shoot me an email if you want more info - [email protected] My own CTR drive car is actually for sale at the moment too, just rummage through the Cars Available section.
  24. Says he who drives the QE2...
