  1. You've done it right, you just took it to the wrong spot. All cars imported under the 15 year rule have to go through a pit inspection before they're registered in SA for the first time. You took it to the place that does ID checks.
  2. I always find R32s ridiculously hard to understand, but it came with 17s from the factory if that helps. Build date fits with being a V-Spec. Colour code is KH2.
  3. Midnight X, you got that tint off the rear windows yet? haha
  4. That's pretty much how brokers work - we all charge a flat commission. $12K sounds like a mighty tight budget, although I haven't bought a 2.5 in a while, so they may have dropped that low these days I guess. Feel free to shoot me an email if you want to discuss it further - [email protected]
  5. I'll go with this one as sounding better personally...
  6. Haha, I was wondering if you'd lurk around in here at some point!
  7. I'm seeing a recipe for disaster. Even if you don't choose me, please pick a broker to help you.
  8. Technically Ferraris are Fiats On that note, a BMW X5 owner waved me down in my Cedric the other day and asked if it was the new Mercedes Benz haha. When he discovered it was a Nissan, he feigned interest for about 30secs then took off....
  9. lol sorry just a saying in the trade - 3 panels means a big hit, usually structural.
  10. Make sure you have the park brake off, or she will keep talking
  11. You may want to avoid showing the rest of the car, though If it's the one I'm thinking of...
  12. Ok it's marked as LP2, so Midnight Purple obviously. Built 12/97 too, for your reference, so I don't think it would've been the first 40th anniversary (they started in October), but if it's a legit Type M-R there's every chance it was the first.
  13. PLEASE put Stagea badges on it!! No-one will know haha
  14. Whoever's it is, it's immaculate. I waved to the driver yesterday while I was pimping around in my Cedric. Also spotted a Midnight Purple 40th Anniversary R33 at Autobarn at Holden Hill.
  15. I thought I told you to stay out of my garage, Eugene!! It sounds fairly unusual to have a layer of metal in-between, mainly because it would be so hard to bond it. Maybe it's some kind of bonding agent that's a similar colour?? I went and checked mine and it's definitely all CF, but I'm pretty sure mine's a Nismo one.
  16. Ok, I'm back again with more info. I knew that Nissan had made a few run-out specials at the end of the R33s, and suspected that this would be an example. I must admit I never even knew this model existed! You learn something new every day... I had my hunches on what mix of parts would be on the car (40th anniversary with all the option parts included), but I thought I'd still consult an anonymous mate who is even more of a Skyline trainspotter than I am. If you hadn't already noticed, the front bar is different to the GT-R. Anyway, I'll quote his reply when I quizzed him about it. ELMOHASA33, can you confirm if your motor is a NEO version? If it isn't I know they definitely used some R34 engine parts (the crank angle sensor was one of them) on the 40ths.
  17. Heslo, who owns a very sexy black Stagea with R34 GT-R rims that lives near us?? I've seen it a couple of times now.
  18. Funnily enough I saw a midnight purple 40th edition GTS-t in a car park today. I'll do a bit of research and get back to you. Suffice to say it's quite a special car Can you please shoot me the chassis number?
  19. Is this the reply from the seller of that V35? It has been hit by a bullet train - driver's door, rear quarter, bootlid and presumably rear bar all replaced, points to a big hit. Reads quite nicely aside from that, but I wouldn't risk sending it to a compliance workshop here.
  20. I think it was more a case of one naive person at a workshop claiming they could do something that they couldn't (I got the same advice from them initially as the other import broker), only to have their phone run hot with inquiries and his boss go postal on him because they couldn't actually comply non-turbos. It was me who requested the removal of the thread, following a request from the workshop owner. Anyway, sorry for the OT discussion, Muz.
  21. If you can stretch to $3K I have the perfect car - Jap import U12 Bluebird AWD with CA18DET and ATTESA. Runs in FWD until it detects slip and transfers power to the rear, so it would own all on the dirt. The car is even located in Cummins, so a relatively short trip to pick it up. I was planning to put it on the road (and given its rarity, I probably still should), but I'm happy to take a loss rather than keep the money tied up in it.
  22. In fairness to the import broker, it was the workshop concerned that did a backflip over the PM35 compliance issue. Glad to hear you can finally move on, Muz - irrespective of whether you've won or lost, I'm sure you're just happy to move on from it.
  23. I'll bet my left testicle that the car doesn't exist, if it did it sure as hell wouldn't be sold at that price. I'll send them an email, just for a laugh, and see what they say. Given the auction photos are the only pics on there, it was probably coming up at auction a few weeks ago, and the company "selling" it was trying to get a bid for it from someone before it went through...in other words, using cars at auction as their "stock", rather than spending the money to buy their own cars. That car wouldn't go for any less than 1 million car cost, probably closer to 1.2 mil. Then add 100,000 for your FOB on top of that. I'll let you know if and when I get a reply to my enquiry
  24. Hang on, so you've been given a price of, at very best, $22500 landed and complied, (Blipman didn't actually say that by the way, he used the figures you gave and gave you the extra costs) and you think you can crunch it down to $17-19K because you happen to have seen a cheap V35 on Trade Carview? Please read here first, and remember to search next time: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Si...hl=tradecarview For the love of Tsuchiya, please use a broker to get you a car from Japan, or the next thread you make will probably go into detail about your money disappearing in Japan, or the car you got sent wasn't the car in the pics, or the car got rejected in compliance.
