I might be wrong, but it sounds like someone is either trying to take you for a ride or they are simply talking shit. Did they offer to "find" you a pair of compatible doors by any chance?? I understand the rules have changed, but under the old 15yr deal all you had to do was have a set of bars fitted to the existing doors & you were good to go. Unless you're locked-in, I'd consider speaking with another shop, even if it's just for another opinion. Good Luck

Just beg borrow or steal a SatNav or similar & you'll then know exactly what you're car's doing. Anything else is guesswork For reference, my 32 GTR is on 255/40/17's up from the factory 16's & reads roughly 7k's down at 100kph but as BB has already said that's within the factory specs

How so?? If the Turbo Timer is installed properly & interacts with the alarm as it should, even if the car is running it will/should shut-down & immobilise the car if anyone breaks in & in turn triggers the alarm with the car running on the timer.

As Angus said, go with a set of N1's, 2530, GT-SS or anything with steel wheels before you maybe drop a std ceramic wheel (I know it's less likely on a R34 being newer etc but it's still not worth the risk waiting for it to happen). Trust dumps, Power FC & a nice tune. I'd also advise running on low-boost for awhile 'til you learn how the car reacts & responds so you don't end up writing your "new girlfriend" off Good Luck & Enjoy!!

The split was all about Tony George (the owner of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway) having a tantrum 'cos he couldn't get his own way with CART (now ChampCar) & somehow he managed to lure the sponsors, & in turn the main teams, away from CART & to his own series in an off-season a few yrs ago which almost destroyed what was & in my opinion still is the best open-wheel formula on the planet. Ultimate example of a "poor little rich kid" getting his own way with $$$....... As much as it pissed me off, I used to get a bit of a chuckle out of the way Ch10 would jump on the band-wagon with the telecast of Indy on the Gold Coast every yr but never considered any of the other races in the series important enough to televise before midnight but now it seems ChampCars at midnight was better than no ChampCars at all. Here's hoping Ch7 (or whoever does own the Aust rights ATM) wake up before Oct & start televising the races at a reasonable time. As for PayTV, Tony George also held ESPN to ransom (they used to televise CART before the split) by stipulating that they would only get the rights to the IRL if they dropped CART & again $$$ talks. Last I knew Speed Channel in the US had the ChampCar rights & of course no-one supplies Speed Channel In Aust.... In the city or congested traffic cruise is dangerous & should never be used but on the hwy &/or long trips it is brilliant. I worked for a traffic survey company several yrs ago & one particular job had me drive 15,000km's over a period of 5wks on my own averaging 8-1200km's per day & due to the nature of the data-collection the entire trip was done on cruise control. You still have to have your shit together & be aware etc but it truly is amazing how much more relaxed you can be at the end of long trips without having to put the physical effort into your right foot & the concentration involved in controlling speed & watching for coppers etc. As for being dangerous, if that is the case the fault & blame lies with the DRIVER, not the device. If you don't have the skill & common sense to operate a vehicle safely with a cruise control, you probably have no right to be driving anything in the first place. Same goes for Automatic-only licences, but that's another argument for another time........

The day that someone actually tries this with a GTR is the day they should have said GTR confiscated & replaced with something they are more deserving- like a Camira or a Gemimi . I'll second Omurru's comments but I guess that's part of the down-side of such a car becoming so "affordable" but then again for every GTR that gets trashed I guess that will eventually make the rest more valuable over time Having said that, it would be interesting to see someone to try this with a big WET nitrous system & a good progressive controller. That way you could run stock everything, incl ECU & injectors etc. Wind the CAS back a bit to knock some timing outa the entire Ign map for when the gas comes in, launch the car with 0% nitrous to be nice to the clutch, be gentle-ish with the gas map 'til you're into 3rd to lessen the chance of grenading the box, losing traction etc then get aggressive with the bottle & with a huge top-end rush I reckon the 10 is a big chance IF you don't pop the bottom-end. If you HAVE to wash your car at home & anyone questions you, just use/tell 'em it's grey water from the washing machine. BTW if you go for this option, use water from the rinse cycles & not the main wash- the PH might mess with your paint a bit otherwise.....

I'll 2nd Seans call on a MetalCat. I bought my GTR with a straight pipe in place of the cat & when I swapped it out for a 4" MetalCat flanged back to 3" to match the exh there was basically no noticeable difference in performance whatsoever. BTW didn't you lose your licence awhile back?? Might explain why you're in no real rush to throw everything at the car

Just changed the seals on my injectors & it looks like I've got one leaking thru the body so I'm looking to buy 1 only std GTR injector in good condition to get me outa trouble. As much as I'd love to be able to just throw a set of big Nismo's in it etc that's not an option right now so if anyone can help me out I'd really appreciate it. Thanx John 0413 615955
