  1. I did a search and couldn't find anything so don't yell at me if this has been covered before What I'm wondering is ... where is the best place to put the aftermarket BOV? At the moment it is positioned on a bracket where the stockie used to be. When I put my front mount in, I want to put my BOV down under the front bar, just after the outlet on the intercooler. Is this a good spot?
  2. Cheers mate, it wasn't getting "hot" as such, I just noticed it when I put my hand over the gearstick boot and realized it was a bit warm. Nothing to worry about I just thought then that there might be a way of cooling it down a bit. Cheers tho
  3. Bah! 33's are ghey  just kidding eh? just unplug the fuse, or hit the switch (if you have this mod ), .... instant rear wheel drive
  4. When I'm fanging my car my gearstick gets pretty warm. Obviously this is because I'm fanging it But I'm wondering, is there any way I can cool it down so that it doesnt increase the chance of anything breaking? Can you get a transmission oil cooler??
  5. I was thinking of moving my atmo-bov from the standard position to just after the intercooler, once the cooler is fitted. I want to hide it behind the front bar
  6. If you have the stock cooler, and you measure the 14psi at the plenum, wouldn't the turbo then be runnng somewhere in the vicinity of 19psi maybe 20? I heard that there is something like a 6psi drop through a standard 33 cooler. I doubt that a stock 32 cooler would be any better?
  7. Damn thats gonna upset a few cruises  When's the next election? The current govt. has done **** all since it's been in, except revenue raising with respect to speed cameras.
  8. Some guy told me once that he replaced all the oil in his WRX with some synthetic stuff and now the drivetrain loss isn't as great. Dunno if the same thing works for Skylines (even though they're not full time AWD )
  9. hmmm I beg to differ about mirror tint looking "homo gay" ... PSIKO on this forum has mirror on his Silvia, and in the day time it looks hot. At night time it looks just like dark tint. Prolly not the best example but the only one I could find for the moment:
  10. His name is Lucas, email him at [email protected]
  11. I think with the R32, getting the chip remapped is just as good as getting an aftermarket computer. But I think if you just want the limiters removed and raised, $450 is a bit steep! My brother got something similar in his SR20, whereby the speed limiter has been removed and he can change the rev limit etc .... cost him $100 from a dude in Perth.
  12. I'll have an R32 one too soon if you want that piece of shit
  13. damn would have come along but GR33D (Justin) has his birthday party saturday night too But happy birthday!
  14. Cheers guys ... I took the AFM off and cleaned it with carby cleaner. Then I disconnected the battery and left it overnight. Today it seems to be running ok, so we'll see how it goes in the next couple of days! Thanks very much for the help
  15. Yeah ok mate no worries! I'm now thinking what you said ... might use the stock pipes down till round the front bar when i can add in some aftermarket pipes. Cheaper solution me thinks
  16. Even if your synchros are in good condition .... I heard that the short shifters help to adjust that
  17. Cool ... thanks guys I'll try those suggestions
  18. btw: how many metres of pipe would I need to buy to do this? And who in Perth can bend 2.5" stainless pipes? I can get the piping cheap ... how much would it cost to bend it? Thanks!!
  19. So after reading all this ... and then referring back to my picture ... if I routed the red pipe underneath the cooler, or even above if it would fit, could I then have the blue pipe coming out like that? That way, I could fit it in the same positions as the stock pipes go as Meggala said, and also the return pipe would be shortest, as rev said. Cheers heaps for the help everyone!
  20. Also I think the smoke is more black, and smells of fuel.
  21. Yeah true. Did his idle strangely ... even though the turbo was playing up?
  22. My girlfriend has a CA 180SX, and its acting very strangely The car idles quite roughly, but then if you drive the car, it can become sort of ok. On acceleration there is quite a lot of blue/black smoke out the back, and if you rev the car and put your hand over the end there's lots of little specks of brown stuff that lands on your hand. There's definitely not as much power as there was. I suspected coils, but someone said it won't idle like it does if it was a coil. My brother suspects air flow meter? Could this affect it like this? Cheers.
  23. Steve ..... so I would want the pipe from the turbo to go into the left hand side of the cooler (if looking at the car from the front), go through the cooler, and then out the right hand side. Then up and over the top of the engine? edit: here's a little pic cheers mate
  24. I am thinking I might put my cooler in myself ... and a mate said that if I got some pipe and measurements his brother would bend and weld it for me. Does anyone have a pattern or picture or measurements of the piping that I would need to fit a cooler to my R32? The end tanks are on either side so go in one side and go out the other, not entry/exit on the same side. Cheers
  25. "Cousin Sven!"
