Fresh from Japan pics
Mr Eps replied to Beer Baron's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
*ahem* vic importer - I personally vouch for Aaron @ importmonster - there's HEAPS of importers that's my personal vouch however... cars with mods CAN be imported however must be returned to stock for compliance, there are lazy people though who don't bother carrying out the work - so short answer - mods within reason can be complied. but most cars with your criteria would be given an R grading at auction so can be a tricky one attaining a car also with engine rebuilds and the likes it's not easy to be able to tell this extent of work from a quick auction inspection. which is why i suggest getting a GREAT broker to scour what you're after. that said it's BEST to import a stock ish car - because modified cars can be a headache to actually officially REGISTER depending on which state you're from 15yo rule "became" the 1988 or older rule.. anything and everything 1988 or older can be imported with relaxed compliance - only must follow ADR's. similar compliance to the 15 year rule. hope this helpS! -
yeah post up a pic of your setup, your address and easy access points in and out of your house! would be GREAT to see this! very informative and exciting, also just out of curiosity are you during the hours of 3pm and 430 pm? ..is ANYBODY home? =P

...don't quote me but im pretty sure after a certain year all cars were to come standard with airbags... i think ...1996 or 97?
-
don't rush matey - keep it stock bodied and save up some cash for nice wheels! actually - do whatever you want it's your car
-
so - not that we'll judge but i must ask are you unemployed??? i do contract work and collectively every year i spend about 4/5 weeks unemployed... and if i'm not overseas during these weeks i play games and it's the BEST way to live. perfect your own skills at a game and perfect a dance move. shit yeah

nic - why are you getting another unrego'd cefiro with a wheezebag motor? (no offence) but are you one of these? you already have a cefiro in bits in your garage save up the money and buy mine - get one you'll be happy with and just get in it and drive it. no need to replace parts - all genuine nissan gear =) has plenty of extras... free coilovers for the rear SS manifold (needs machining) floor mats A1 condition you know you want it =) i'd be happy knowing it's going to a good owner (providing you don't fkn pull it apart =P)
-
you guys wanna do this let me know... unless any of you wanna buy my car? keith saw it sat - he can vouch for it =P if this happens just hit me up with a PM i don't cruise the cefiro sections much these days... so let's re-iterate... WHO actually has a road registered cefiro in perth??? seems like there's only about 3/4 now? there's a stock bodied white one that gets around... and a purple washy coloured one... to my knowledge that's all i ever see?

Putting Back Original Tires
Mr Eps replied to jarthel's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
soooooooooooo is it possible to KEEP your imported tyres? sorry for epic thread bump... but are we as customers allowed to keep the japanese / non DOT approved tyres? technically they're *our* property... right??? =/ -
iiiiiiiiiiii... don't think i'd bother - it'd be too much headache to attain engineer certs overeast and heaven forbid you receive a defect (you never know - the sideways wearing hat crowd could get hold of these) however impul make a supercharger kit for the K12 march (shares the same 1.4 engine) and Greddy make an E-manage which apparently works SO much better if you have filter and exhaust upgrades =) and realistically these cars aren't MEANT to go fast they're an aesthetic oddity - they turn heads and make peopole say WOW they're not meant for the track you can spend $20,000 ++ upgrading the engine on this. roll cage and swaybars and floor braces and stability and weight reduction just so you can make it go faster.... and you'll still be stuck at the same red lights. the same traffic jams. obeying the same speed limits the cube is only meant for dress ups =) and that's what i like about it!
-
sooooooooooooo munkeh you're telling me nobody in japan cares about rwd nonturbo.. orr people outside of japan? that's not to say you can't make turbo kits for them... they're a blank canvas i suppose not to shoot you down in fear of your mighty banstick... but rwd non turbo coupes V35 skyline 350Z 370Z s2000 hyundai genesis Toyota FT86 so - there IS a market for them. lexus. the lfa. what about it =)
-
ok so the burning question is to owners - what do they feel like to drive??? my mum just reutrned from KL and said she saw this "car cruise of these cars shaped like boxes" i showed her the cube n she said YEAH THATS THEM haha she loved them anyway what is the cube like when you're actually behind the wheel??? its obvious they are gorgeous and cute on the out side but from pictures for me it was the interior that swayed me away... how does it's handling compare to other smaller sized cars? or acceleration? i want a real answer here - obviously they're cute cars to look at on the net... but when you actually HAVE one what does it make u say?
-
how is ft86 a fail? apparently subaru is ditching the 4wd and possibly scrapping their variant all together and how is a highly tuned VVT NA 4 cyl a "fail"??? it's the FT86 concept - based on the AE86 concept. which as i remember, was a RWD non turbo, was never marketed as such. and never came with any forced induction. toyota is just re-living that feeling. let them!

Who Can Comply Figaro's?
Mr Eps replied to mini2's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
...well that was quick... i think i just met someone that changes their mind more than i do. -
what???? there's a car class called HYPER car? since when? and how does it differ from a supercar?
-
welllll lexus made this car as an experiment - hence their limited run... this IS their "testing of waters" there's what... 300 being made??? hardly a production car - it's merely lexus showing off what they have the capacity to make... that said... bring on the FT86!!! and who says a new supra is not in the making? never say never - that's Toyota's motto* and always has been *may not be Toyotas motto
-
haha- yeah my mate lachlan is over in melb right now and happy snapped me a cube with the plate "QUBE" white one wrote in the msg "DUDE!!!! A FREAKING TOYOTA CUBE!!!! I DIDN'T KNOW WE COULD IMPORT THESE!!!!" toyota cube indeed. this coming from a guy who just sold his citroen C2 (or C3) to buy a 2001 corolla levin for the same price mind you... despite me saying to him the the cube is avail for import and he was foaming at the mouth for one... that guy's had some cool cars thought... 1987 corolla sedan with 4agze swap. 1992 levin.... but yeah - is that owner on this forum / this thread?

Whats My Budget Good For?
Mr Eps replied to R-SPEC's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Gi...-A-t314074.html ^^^^ that thread will give you a fair budget to look at... as JDM performance predicted... 1.5 - 1.7 milly would fall within your budget and leave some left for insurance and "issues" that particular car looked stunning -
Landcruiser 60 Series
Mr Eps replied to ?UESTLOVE's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
obviously you have your mind to work out for yourself and yourself only - i'm choosing to import because i'm looking for a particularly rare / special car... not to say what i'm looking for is special but over here it is - 99-2000 VVTI single turbo soarer realistically i probably won't save any money off importing than buying local - someone in NSW is selling a turbo manual for 15 grand - but i'm after a specific condition =P -
dead to me. =P
