  1. I guess I just assumed because if he's not increasing the power, I can't see much point in getting a standard thickness metal head gasket
  2. Sounds good in theory but a thicker head gasket is definately noticable when driving off boost. What mods do you have? If you're not planning on big power, I would suggest replacing it with a standard Nissan gasket. Don't reuse the existing one, you might as well swap it whilst it's out
  3. Does it still run 10psi up top or does boost drop off all together? If it is only reaching 10psi and staying there all the way to redline then it could be any number of things but I would suggest you have a wastegate actuator problem.
  4. Yes the 2530 will flow better than a standard turbo at the same boost but I don't know what drugs you are smoking if you think it's going to generate more heat! How could it generate more heat at the same boost if it's a bigger turbo and is using less shaft speed to reach the desired boost level? Putting a bigger turbo on a standard GTSt (as long as you continue to run standard boost) is fine as long as the car goes on the dyno and the fuel mixtures are kept on the richer side.
  5. If only you were in NSW! A 94 GTR at that price with those mods should sell soon.
  6. That's some bad luck for a minor front ender dude! Good luck getting it fixed, let us know how you go.
  7. I don't believe those specs! Since when does an R32 GTR take 14.0 secs down the quarter, and more to the point, since when is an R33 GTR (13.9) quicker than a 32? An RZ SUPRA stops the clocks @ 13.6. A standard Supra Versus a standard GTR does not end in the Supra winning by 1/2 a second.
  8. An electronic gauge can show peak boost, warning of pre set overboost and most have a replay function. I have always been under the assumption that mechanical gauges are more accurate.
  9. Please excuse my ignorance, but I would have thought that on 1.2 bar with you current set up it would be making closer to 300@wheels.
  10. You might want to move this to the parts section.
  11. :elaugh: It's not nice to take the piss!
  12. Because it's auto I would say about $17,000 - $18,000
  13. I've owned and driven numerous WRX's in very different states of tune, but I have never seen one make 17psi under 3000 rpm. What mods do you have?
  14. As title states I am looking for an R33 GTSt series II in Sydney. I am lookin for something mildly to moderately modded and in manual only. Something very clean with under 100 xxx km's preferably but will certainly consider higher km cars especially if the engines been rebuilt. If your car fits the bill (and you are selling it of course) please PM me with the details. Thanks Kym

  16. So basically, there the turbo is the problem with the r33's and not the head gaskets. Thanks for all the replies guys!
  17. Just a confirmation, is the car in Perth?
  18. If you were to upgrade the turbo on a 33 (or even running standard turbo) how much boost could you safely run? The main reason I ask is because a mate said that the head gaskets on the 33's are crap and anything over 1 bar of boost and they can easily pop. Is this true and is it common with both series1's and series 2's or did Nissan rectify this problem on the later series? I would be looking to make about 250@wheels Thanks
  19. Do you think you could post up a few more interior pics?
  20. Do you want to give us some sort of price range? Does this car have a front mount?
  21. This is just the screen only yeah? Would you have to plug in a seperate DVD player or does it have one built in? Does it have an arial to watch TV also? Sorry if these are stupid questions, I don't know a huga amount about this sort of equipment
  22. Hey kc, What did the GTR make on the dyno @ tilbrooks?
  23. If you are putting the whole "car" thing on hold, why are you swapping for another turbo import???
