Question: Please explain your understanding of the Hit n Run - Hit n Stop laws. I'm baffled when a pedestrian is on the road and gets hit by a car! The villan is automatically the driver. There's been a constant stream of news on the teev's about Hit n Runs this last week and it's erked me. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cars are supposed to be on the road and pedestrians NOT. They cross them at personal risk. We see kids run across, drunks stumble across and the elderly slow and not so steady crossing at the wrong place/time. When did we decide to stop educating about the dangers of crossing roads? Why aren't parents responsible for teaching their kids about the dangers and why are young kids not with their parents? Why isn't duty of care solely with the pedestrian? There is always a spate of these and the way it seems to me it is that the driver has to fear the law. Is there any wonder why drivers do a runner. I know there's drunk/drugged/speeding drivers and they definately shouldn't be behind the wheel, but shouldn't responsibility also be on the pedestrian to cross safely? If a drunk driver hits a drunk pedestrian on the road is it 50/50 for responsibility/liability ? If a legal driver hits a drunk or sober pedestrain is it the pedestrian totaly "at fault"? Other questions: Why are school zones kilometers long 360 around a school now days and not 50 meters? and why between 8am and 4pm. and not 8-9am & 3-4pm? Why do parents park at the crossings on both sides of the roads to pick their kids up? Is there any evidence that the reduction in speed limits has reduced road fatality's in Australia? My unsubstantiated view is we have made dumber/arrogant humans and that fatality's remain comparable over the last 30 years per capita. If you can find stats to proove different please send me a link and I'll change my view/s. SPEED KILLS -> idiots. I'm all for valid speed limits because alot of drivers dont know their own and their vehicles safe limits. I blame Xbox...lol Not for protecting those who fail to think first or parents from teaching kids. Rant over

Where to get Skyline Serviced
Sinista32 replied to r33skylinegtst's topic in Australian Capital Territory
+1 I had a very good experience taking the MK3 Supra to ESP. The guys removed the failed combined water pump/hydraulic fan and replaced with a seperated system (water pump, and thermo). Serviced and tuned. They were friendly and great with advice. Supra runs like the powers now. Will be going back to get an after market puter and tune. Likely go from twin to single turbs as well. -
GRRRRRR - dont get me f**ken started. Shoot to kill !!! People do deserve to die when they effect the life and liberty of others.

When all is said and done I'd appreciate a PM. I've been through a divorce and I have been through a rebuild gone bad. Financially and emotionally they're both costly. There's no winner and do not expect justice. I hope you were able to read my last post, prior to the thread being removed. Advice I gave may tip the scales in your favour. S!N

There was a thread yesterday about an SAU memeber who was taking a workshop to court over an engine rebuild gone wrong in the Newcastle area "Hill". Today its MIA. What happend to this thread Mods? several pages wiped. Was this censored or removed at the request of the initiator?

Could be something easy and cheap or could be a warning of something more drastic waiting to occur. "Warning Will Robinson" ...lol....Sorry cant be more specific as others have mentioned what else is happening if anything. Need to diagnose and best to have someone qualified than 'hit n miss' gueses. Tuning was my issue when this light flickerd ie: knock sensor. Your Engine light is flickeringing for a real reason in most cases - This light informs you when there is a problem anywhere in the vehicles Electronic Engine Control System. This system basically includes all sensors, solenoids, valves, actuators etc. that your vehicle needs to operate correctly. The system is big and can include both engine and/or transmission concerns.

4 Dead Including Young Child - Police Pursuit
Sinista32 replied to GTR-N1's topic in Australian Capital Territory
IMHO all but the baby got "Karma". There is still a lot more to this than has already been reported in the media. Canberra/Queanbeyan (Wanniassa) is a small place. Some facts are still taking time to come out and alot more will never be publicly known about the families and friends of the deceased. Again IMHO there should have been more immediate family/fiends involved in the fatal accident. To loose innocent people is a real tradegy, to say game over to local scum is a blessing. The deaths of 3 in particular has saved more lives than the total of 4 killed in the crash. On a final note I can not beleive 500 or so turned up for the funeral/s! But then again I find it hard to beleive the number of drug f**ked fiends and theives who support their illegal habits on the streets in Canberra........ -
Now if you haven't seen this bring the kleenex!

4 Dead Including Young Child - Police Pursuit
Sinista32 replied to GTR-N1's topic in Australian Capital Territory
1. Police call off pursuits after an accident occurs; 2. Nobody dies instantly (thats a compassionate lie for family and friends); 3. Criminals do need to be caught and prosecuted with mandatory sentences to protect the community, stop re-offenders; and 4. Public (innocents) safety is parramount. Justin had a death wish, at the very least didn't respect life or others lives. He was always going to die young. Regretfully he took away the lives of innocents and has scared the lives of the surviving family members and friends for the rest of their lives. Justin is soley accountable for his poor choices and is totally responsible for the deaths he caused. Im tired of the excuses used like upbringing, poverty, ethnicity, drug abuse etc.... Every individual has choices to make and the subsequent consequence of their choices. Life is not an X-box game. You dont get another go - its GAME OVER! Alot of us survive stupidty - alot of us dont. -
