Love it. i wanted to stick the s15 front on my s14 but the kit is fibreglass all the way and then i was thinking it might be dodgy and not fit right cos they are coming from the US. Its called strawberry face cos apparently japanese for strawberry is ICHIGO which is also simile to the word for 15 or some crap. so they call it strawberry face. still thinking about it though, would make a nice showcar.

yup i took mine out and i took the little alpine badge on the dd drive speaker covers and glued it over the hole where the bolt went through, now it looks like an alpine speaker of sorts, plus the r33 covers look quite good in the series II, not sure of the series 1, they are massive and look like 6x9 covers so the alpine badge fits nicely. i was so annoyed cos when the speakers went in the bracket fell directly into the tweeter which sucked. anyways until i get pulled its all good.

the cat is oval shaped and the dent is on the join near where the piping goes into the cat. it doesnt seem to bad and it will be under the car so i am not ecpecting too many problems. still deciding what to do with the pipework, cos the cat seems old and I am thinking putting it in might be pointless as it could be too old to be of any use so i might just get a new high flow cat and use that instead. Just need to find a small exhaust shop with patience. someone cheap as you would expect. anyways i will let you know how the cleaning goes. RiaZ

what up mah peeps Hey listen I bought a secondhand exhaust from Hikari and it needs a bit of a clean up before i take it to get the dump pipe made. It is mild steel and there are some bits that have surface rust. (the flanges) Now i wanted to scrub em off with a wire brush and then spray all the piping in that high temp black spraypaint so it all looks nice and then polish the twin mufflers. But i also want to like flush the exhaust through. and now the question... DO you think that i could use carby cleaner or something similar to get some gunk out of it. like carbon caked on the inside. I am not sure what to use or do, i dont think there is any problem with bolting it on but while it is sitting there doing nothing i might as well do something. it is a jasma exhaust with a high flow cat, but the cat is dented, dunno if it will affect anything. hopefully not. i am considering knocking the cat out...(but i wouldnt cos its illegal) as an experiment if i choose not to use the cat. Do you think hypothetically that it will let alot of black smoke through the exhaust or will it just smell really bad with the extra gasses. would anyone have any hypothetical theories on this. lata RiaZ

Okay i had the same drama (sound familiar to all the other replies) lol I thought that it was the EBC green stuff on the front of my car. but alas it was the EBC black stuff street kevlar its called on the right side rear that was making all the racket. got it checked. disc machined/skimmed a second time and then refitted, tested, still squeaked. took em out checked everything in with the anti squeal. still squeaked. took the pads out and put in Bendix standard rears or something poor and non kevlar and walla no squeak. What the... i agree. Apparently there isnt really enough weight in the rear of the R33 to make the rears work hard enuff or some crap like that. We apparently also share the same rears as a WRX. so there ya go. I have taken my car to Brakeswest in Myaree, they are nice guys and took time to check and test and test and test and test until the came up with some sort of solution. who knows there is no noise now so I am happy, though i really wanted kevlar on the back. bugga !!

Insurance is very scared of taking risks with imports as there are no age/driver skill restrictions for buying them, especially with the power that most can put out, same goes for V8's ya know. I mean I know excel drivers smash cars all the time, but cos we are a specialised group we get the sh*t end of everything. Its almost hopeless. and worse if you have had a crap history. HBF do cover imports. so give them a call and tell them that someone else just did one if anyone says we dont do it. If you get too much opposition ask to be put through to James and leave a message for him telling him you want a quote for an import. DO NOT TELL HIM YOU HEARD IT FROM HERE. I had the squeeeeeling, this was after i got the pads changed to ebc street kevlar then i went back to the brake joint, cos it was making too much noise. this is rear right by the way and then they changed it to hopeless bendix pads in the rear and the squeeling has stopped alot, though now it is very very barely noticable, can hardly be heard dogs hate me though, haha apparently it was something to do with the brake material and not enuff rear weight in the vehicle. i gotta go bck though cos i like the ebc's better, and oh yeah the discs have been machined twice in the back. good luck, but i would really check the pad compound

I love how everyone is talking about 1/4 miles. can you hit the limiter in a stock vehicle on the 1/4 mile. if you can then yeah i will prolly lose. bu if not and there is some space left then maybe i might still hit the 33's limiter first. i dont think rexes are limited to 180. any ideas

Thanks peeps, I guess i will just have to bite the bullet and give it a go. The car is stock apart from an air filter pod, which i did recently. i cant really see too much difference that it made cos there is no partition etc. so it is probably a negative thing i have done, lol anyways the whole point of this so called drag was to see who gets to 180 first. no 1/4 mile etc etc. if I hit 180 and he is behind then its done and done no dramas, rematches or arguments. I didnt have much hope of 1/4 mile cos I figured that the rex would get me with the launch. i think it is a 1998 rex and i got a 1996 line with pretty low (doesnt look dodgy) kms so it should be fun. Okay guys, who has dragged rexes and do we beat them or not. I am going for in mainly stock standard form here. I am dragging one next week stock standard VS my stock standard, we got slightly more power similar torque but weigh alot different. Do you think I am going to get to the limiter first or the rex. Then i know I can shoot my mouth off before hand. and yes I can drive well no slow ass shifting and letting revs drop etc. BOTH CARS ARE SCARY STOCK STANDARD MONSTAS, lol thanks blokes. Okay Bosch do one called Real White and from the pics I have seen online, they are REAL white, they run em up against another 2 brands or something and they still look REAL white, fantastic., only UNfantastic thing is they are really expensive like $90. I think that is crap considering the prices you can pay for sum like $25/$30 or so. I can't remember but one of the websites stock it, japparts, or Japplus or something like that, oh thats right... JUST JAP. but its $90. Wouldn't be a bad group buy item. I just bought some, dunno what they are called but they are pretty blue when reflecting on things, but from the front they are very white.
