  1. As far as I know the Odaiba round was an invitation only event. Must be because of limited space... Just go to the Tsukuba final....the best by far! Superb action :headbang:
  2. that is indeed a great site. Cheers for that. Dave....the odaiba circuit is actually a car park:D

    Touge

I've seen a bit of touge in the nikko area and up tsukuba san. Very hush hush, very well organized and of course people do it to compete against each other, not just for fun. Every time I've been to one someone had a small crash (coming down the mountain with the front bumper sticking out the back of your hachiroku is quite popular!). Most of the cars that participate are old mistreated bangers, old silvias, 86s, 180s, laurels, soarers, evo 1-3s, WRXs and a few rwd 32s. I guess I must have just seen the low budget side of touge, but to tell you the truth I haven't really heard of any more extreme machinery competing. Most also seem to prefer to drift rather than grip.

    Hot Version In Tsukuba

That pic is great Dave...all you need is practice. Great thing to practice with are trains as they have a very uniform movement so easy to begin with...give it a go. Arta NSX was loudish, but nothing compared to the old Spoon Civic Gr.A...that thing rumbled your ribcage and rearranged your internal organs! ...Taisan R32 wasnt too quiet either :aroused:

    Merli's Japan Pics :)

Merli....just stumbled on this thread. Cool pix...and BTW I was the guy that was supposed to come and meet you guys at JUN and Veilside. Too bad it didn't happen. I've been in Japan since 1993, on and off, and I totally agree with what Dave said about not noticing the "different" stuff as much as when you first get there. In my experience life in Japan changes continuously the more years you stay. My first 3 years here were great, but at that time I was going to an international school in Tokyo and didn't really get the full on experience of being immersed in a different culture. Thats the main reason that made me return once I finished with my uni studies, gave up a great job offer and decided to come back here and give it a proper shot. The last 4 years have been great, but let me point out that life as a gaijin is not always like that. There are certain periods where you start feeling very negative about everything Japanese...and others that you love everything about it. Its hard to explain but for a period its a real love-hate thing....untill you truly let yourself go and accept what has to be accepted. Not sure if this makes sense but its what I have experienced, and a lot of my foreigner friends that are here. Anyway...let us know when you are over next and we'll organize something:)
  10. I live in Mito, Ibaraki-ken and they salt roads here all the time. Not every road but places/stretches that are in the shade all day, bridges and stuff like that. Its not salt though, its some kind of very fine chemical dust type thing. Musy be up to local government offices obvviously. Hope this helps:)
  11. Dave... got one of thos Hard Off / Hard House stores here as well....their all over the place! Bloody funny. For anyone out there that knows a bit of Spanish I always found the Mazda La Puta amusing. Fancy writing home and telling your friends you drive a Mazda "The Bitch" or "The Whore"!! Yep, ride her every day, get good mileage as well:D

  18. Guys....I went into Nismo HQ before Christmas as a friend back in the UK asked me to get a Nismo key for his BNR34. I asked the guys at the shop and I got the reply I mentioned on my earlier post. I have no idea if the key fits a ER34 but it sure as hell doenst fit the BNR34!

  21. The Nismo blank keys are ONLY for R32 & R33s. They cant make them for R34s as each key has a code built in for the immobilizer. So unless they sent you a key that looks nothing like the one below then you have not been ripped off!
